The problem with a lot of city cars like the Spark and smart fourtwo is their pricepoints are up near the subcompacts and compacts, so people automatically have the "Well if I spend a bit more I can just get a bigger Sonic" thought. This thing is priced so cheaply it's almost one of those things people buy just to buy.

I paid close to that for a golf cart. Even my lawn mower was $4k.

Would be an interesting option for a teen driver to drive locally for school, work, store or friends house.

6K and I'm in....It makes more financial sense, 6K/96 miles compared to, what, 30-40K for a 2-300 mile range...? For short around town distances, it's perfect, and the chance of breaking even by not having to buy gasoline is more attractive than buying something I may never break even with the purchase price of in my lifetime....

Offer a golf bag rack, and get approval to use it as your own personal golf cart, and it would be a best seller for sure....

It is certainly interesting looking. You don't need it to be huge to be an inner city commuter car. I think it would take off in US cities.

Just a little insight into the luxury car market right now...

22% of May's Infiniti sales went to rental fleet.
Average incentives on 3-series were close to $12k.

Basically, Cadillac sedan sales may be in the toilet but at least they're making money off of the few they sell.
