GM purposely made the Camaro slower those years out of respect for its buyers. You see, they didn't want to stare at that model in the rearview mirror too long because it hurt.

sorry, sorry -- I'm joking!!

i guess that whole mullet thing went to hell, now all we should be concerned about is keeping the car on the road while laughing hysterically as the Gt's try to keep up.

how original.
Actually, while a lot of the details are still fuzzy I have seen a shot (very recently) which did a very good job of showing the basic lines of the car with no camo. The car gives much more of a 67-68 vibe than 1970. Still, mimicking one particular year of Mustang wasn't really the point, what Ford was going for was natural evolution...and when the car is seen naked I think the vast majority of folks will agree they succeeded here. And the 67-68 vibe the new car gives off is hardly a surprise in any event since that is the basic template they have been working from since the 2005.

As for the 'power-bulge' hood, that exists because it has to. The hood needs the bulge to clear the strut tower brace the new Mustang GT will be using. This is a case of form following function.

Yeah, until the road stopped being straight, the brakes had to be applied, it started to rain... but yeah, pretty much every other time (i.e. in a straight line), the foxbody owned the Camaro... Oh yeah! Just remembered... In 1993the straight line thing went away too. But yeah, that foxbody... that was the Cat's Pajamas.
