And you aren't getting it either, the car is what it is and the point being made is its getting the same mileage as a V8 in a camaro. So really where's the benefit to the supposed V6 mileage line they say in the commerical. There isn't one. No need for the woulda, coulda, shoulda so stop bringing that up.

What I said first stands. The comparsion is accurate because that's what the car IS, not what you could do. Simply said its not what you are saying it is.

Where the marketing line is coming from is that you can get a 2010 Taurus AWD with a 3.5L V6 that gets 20 mpg and has 263 hp or you can get a 3.5L TT V6 that gets 20 mpg and delivers 365 hp. So you have a 102 hp increase and have the exact same mileage.

Ah ha, ok that makes more sense, even though the mileage still isn't that great

NVM I get the whole marketing line, but by today's standards must new V6s hitting the market are getting aroun 23city/30-31 highway. So I would hardly call getting 20mpg V6 mileage. I get that and more combined on my SS. 20.8 to be exact.

Thats all I'm saying.

The mileage on the Taurus is bad in comparison to mid size cars but it has grown to full size. So it is now competing against the Avalon, Impala, and Charger. Also if you drop the AWD then you get 18/28 22 combined which is not a game changer but it is class competitive. (for now considering most full size cars have been around for awhile)

I realize now that i need to ask for more work because I am defending the honor of the Taurus on a Camaro forum. If it gets any slower i may start sticking up for the Prius.

nice! You know what though, the Taurus does have optional MASSAGE chairs!! How freaking great would that be for long trips, or even just driving home from a long day of work?!

It isn't a twin-turbo in the full out performance sense right? It's like a small turbo to build torque early then another turbo takes over more like the BMW?

Edit: if that didn't make sense- I mean when I usually think of twin turbos I think of two turbos spooling up at the same time for the sake of HP. As opposed to two turbos spooling up separately to make you think it's a V8.

That's what I was thinking too, and thought that they must be some small turbos or somethin. The first part of your post would make more sense though
