My other option is to have my dealer keep calling other dealers and buy their allocation.

Another fun GT-500 fact is that the dealers pay a fee to Ford just to get one car a year.

All I can say is I'm just about ready to say the heck with it and buy a Camaro and build the F@$% out of it with the money I save.

So it may be a sweet car, but dont expect to pay much under MSRP or dont expect to be able to get it from a dealer close by your home.

I sure hope GM does NOT do this with the Z/28. If they can get info out before I can get my hands on a Shelby and if its not going to be a special car GM may just get my $50k Ford doesnt seem to want.

Ok done ranting now.
Your dealer is trying to rip you off.

kinda sounds like a sales tactic to get a bump $$$

hopefully when or IF the z28 comes out the GT500's will start selling in bigger numbers, but i have a feeling the as long as they have that damned Shelby name attached to them, theyll still produce le$$ of them.

You let your dealership pull a fast one on you.

dealers wont even mention other dealers unless they cant get the car you want AT ALL. Sounds like the only way for them to get it is to buy one off another dealer. And then sell it to you.

I'd drive it if somebody gave me one but not something I'd spend my money on. Just not my style...

This was not my dealer telling me this, it was FORD. I e-mailed them and they actually had the rep for the area call me.

My dealer is willing to sell it to me for Thousands under MSRP.

Its all the other dealers (50 so far) that I have called that are charging too much.

You are exacly correct. Ford keeps the numbers down to keep the price up.

Read the post, this came from FORD directly NOT my dealer. I had a hard time not cracking up on the phone when she was feeding me the line. She didn't know what to say when I started spouting off production numbers of this so called collectors car.

Well you see I want it all, the car and a great price. Call the dealers that still can get you a car and let me know what the price is. I don't call MSRP a good deal. $1,000 over invoice thats pretty good.

$1000 over invoice nets your salesman $100-125.

that is probably why theyre not running around doing all the leg work for a mini. plus, even if the salesperson wanted to do it, the desk manager wouldnt let the gt500 go at that price since people are paying so much more for it (market value).

You want to pay 1k over invoice for a car that was redesigned this year and before it even is released? Good luck. Getting MSRP for at least a month or so after release will be tough, let alone ORDERING one for less than MSRP. That's what happens with new cars.

+1 especially when the 2011's are even more badass than the 2010's.

Ordered it from the sales manager, he does not get any cut of the sales, just salary.

2011's can be had for a good price, just have to wait until mid summer or fall. As soon as the rumors of the TVS blower and 600hp for 2012 start going around a little more.

You know I have purchase 5 new cars and have never even paid invoice, always less but that was with GM.

i doubt Ford will ever start whore-ing out GT500's like that. Not even paying invoice for american cars is saying theyre not even worth the parts theyre made with.
why do you insist on a certain number over invoice? why dont you offer to pay what the car is worth to you?
