A smaller company would have flexibility on something like this but any large corporation like GM really needs to treat any leaks of confidential material or info seriously for several reasons that are much more important than this actual 'leak' and any resulting issues. I'm sorry you had learn this lesson the hard way Karl, but it is the way the world works and all you can do is move forward a bit wiser. I hate job searches but hopefully you'll find something even better!

If you are privileged to information through your job, you should know what you can and cannot do with it. Sucks that you got fired, but I don't feel sorry for you. You knew what you were doing and the concequences of your actions. This is a nationwide deal...not just some mom & pop company in anytown, USA where it only hurts them if one of their own leaks something to the townfolk. I personally don't take any leaked info to heart since I know that when it's right and just how they want to present it to us...we'll see it. And it'll be the way it was meant to be. The GM team goes to great lengths to make sure all the I's are dotted and T's are crossed before releasing things like this to us.

It's everywhere now. Some members felt that discussion was their right. Throughout the day, there was a lot of debate about whether to leave stuff posted, and many members got their posts deleted. Site management did their best to keep this under control, but there simply weren't enough moderators and the leak was too big. In the future, it is important that we try to respect GM's secrets and allow them to be released by GM when they are ready.

fyi: GM did not have anything to do with KarlChev's termination.

KarlChev, I'm sorry to hear this happened, man. You're right -- and I hope others believe you -- be careful what you post on the internet.......:(
