Last i checked, dodge needs to make some sales. Obviously, their attacking of a total niche market isn't working. Have you driven any of the new vipers? Like I said, suspension and drivetrain can only cost so much. The car just doesn't feel like anything near a 100k car. This is all just my opinion, but I'm sure many agree. That's probably why they're revising it. We're just arguing opinions, but IMO the viper needs some serious upgrades.
And since were on that note ... lets talk bout the Z06...wups I mean the ZR1 interior .... did I miss something

And last time I checked, the ACR out handles the ZR1

It doesn't "feel like a $100k car?" Well I'll take that ACR, while you hop into your Murciealago and you can try to tell me that as I'm flying past you.

I'm pretty sure DG hit the nail on the head in saying the Viper is a no- compromise, performance machine.

I agree that the Viper isn't a go-kart. Go-karts weigh a lot less and have much smaller engines. And most are only built to seat 1 person. But they do share one important characteristic: they're both at home while on a track.

Anyway, giving it a higher grade interior won't change the fact that the rest of the car is horrible to live with. The A/C, last I heard, couldn't keep up with the heat generated by the transmission. Thats a more fundamental problem than cheap controls and why I likened a better interior to putting lipstick on a pig. The problems are more than skin deep. I would be surprised if there is a single Viper thats driven on a daily commute of more than a few miles. The Viper is a track car first, road car second. While that is the reason most don't like them, its also why the rest do like it. If your priorities are otherwise, there are other options in its price range, including Corvettes which have a similar grade interior but they are a more comfortable car for everyday life. But you cannot walk up to a dealership and buy anything that will outperform it for less money.

I have 2 friends with Vipers. One friend got a 2002 Viper GTS for his 16th birthday, I know not a bright idea. Well he has had the car now for 8-9years. And for the first 4 years it was his only vehicle.

I made several 300-600 mile one way trips in the car. It wasn't that bad. Even in a southern summer.

Then I have another friend that has a 2004 Viper convertible. Have only been on one 250 ish mile trip in the car. Wasn't bad. Was a little better than the 02.

Either one I could live with on long trips. But I might be lighter on creature comforts than others.
