That was one of the most wild nights I've ever seen at a race. I didn't root for Earnhardt at all ,but I do miss the excitement he brought to the sport.
Last weekend was the first time in a long time that is looked like the nascar of old.
BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY.... NOW WE CAN START RACING AGAIN BOYS!

This is DIFFERENT because Dale Sr wrecked Labonte GOING FOR THE WIN...
Carl Edwards was 156 LAPS DOWN, not going for the win, he was going for retaliation...that's why, IMHO, I think this is completely different...

As a casual Nascar fan I think it is joke. It is one thing to get into it during the heat of the battle it is something completely different when you are down 169 laps and you purposely take some one in the top 10 out of the race. He should of been suspended for at least 1 race in my opinion. I think the Nascar officials are living in the dark ages, the majority of people I have spoke with wanted to see some type of punishment.

Rubbing is racing boys, and girls. Little bump here, a nuge there, who cares?

Don't strap on the helmet if your scared.

Not to mention that happened on a short track, where they barely touch 4th gear. This happened at Atlanta - one of, if not the fastest 1.5 mile. Where Carl spun Brad was where they're going the fastest - about 190-195 in the draft. That's almost criminal.

I have to say I think the penalty is a bit light too. It would be one thing if he spun him out racing him, but to be 156 laps down and spin a car in the top ten? Not acceptable.
It'll turn into a disaster like when my brother and I played NASCAR on the PS2. When one of us knew we were out of the running for winning the race, we'd turn and go the wrong way around the track and try to take out all the AI cars so the other could win. I realize this is an extreme example, but what's to stop a driver's teammate, who is several laps down, from taking out that driver's competition?

Edwards was trying to just spin him out, and I can understand why he would want to do that and I think Nascar does too. The main problem is that the wing caused the other to flip, and that is Nascar's fault. The angle of attack gives them downforce when moving forward but lift when going backwards:

So in the end, Nascar would look pretty dumb for fining a driver for doing what they asked and causing an accident that wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for the wing they required.

I think they should suspend Kevin Harvick for the rest of the year....

Wait, that was already done one a few years back for a less serious incident.

Carl should just walk up to him and jack him in the jaw next time.

He would still be walking around dazed and confused.

Seriously though, a bear hug on Brad K. would cause a career ending injury. He needs to eat a few Big Macs!

Carl would have been in the top ten just like Brad, and not 156 laps down if Brad didn't wreck him earlier in the race. Carl just gave him a taste of his own medicine... I don't even think it was right that they parked him the last few laps of the race... he wasn't a danger to anyone else after he took care of Brad. I didn't see him turn into Brad either... he just didn't give him any room, the same thing that happened earlier to him. I think most of you are just a bunch of haters because he drives for Ford.
