Come on man, that is about the most crazy thing I have seen you post. NOBODY in their right mind would shoot someone just for walking up their driveway and knocking on the door... Now if you started rattling the door or trying to come in without permission, yes I can see someone pulling a gun on you... But then you would deserve it!

In my opinion, guns are a great thing, but they need to be a last resort. The only reason I'd pull a gun on someone is if they had a knife or another gun and were threatening my life or my family's. In that case, you can rest assured that they'll be on their way to the hospital with a few .22 caliber rounds in them.

Gun control pisses me off... especially when I live in one of 2 states in the country that doesn't allow concealed carry. I'm a Corrections Officer and I cant carry off duty after recieving death threats all day... thats great!

That sucks. How long have you been in? I've been in corrections for over twenty years an lost track of how many threats I've gotten. At least here in NY we can carry off duty. Though the thing that sucks here in NY is that they won't honor the Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act of 2004 (HR-218) the order from the federal government that allows all Peace Officers to keep our Peace Officer status after we retire allowing us to still carry in any state.

That's a lawsuit waiting to happen. It's a guaranteed win because state, provincial, territorial, and regional rights are limited to federal leftovers in almost all constitutions in the world.

Yeah, and the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution. Any federal law overrides any conflicting state or local law. So technically, you are permitted to carry your firearm with you.

On our last weapons training the WTO said that the NY made it clear that, sure you can carry, but you draw your weapon or get stopped they will not back you. But hey, that's good ole NY freaking usless state thumbing their nose at a federal law. Matter of fact we also have a new piece of legislation signed into law not long ago called PREA. The inmates recieved the info packets showing them word for word on how they can charge on Officer with rape for doing a pat-frisk. We as officers still haven't offically been told about it. The unions still trying to figure out what to do about it.

I have had a Texas CHL for many years. Contrary to Ann Richards saying we would become the wild west if the law was enacted.

I carry a Kel Tec P32 with a 10 round mag just about everywhere. If I need more power I can carry my Sig Sauer 228 9mm in Miami Rig or Sig 220 45 in my jumbo fanny pack. Both Sig's have Crimson Trace laser grips.

I can go into the bank, grocery, auto parts store etc locked and loaded. Only place in town that has a prohibit CHL sign is a stupid chain called "Taco Cabana".

Theres An OLD saying... YOU CAN HAVE MY GUN WHEN YOU PRY IT FROM MY COLD DEAD HAND!.. Which I Totally agree with..
Or This One "You Want My Guns? You Can Have'em Bullets First"
Texas passed a law so that crap cannot happen, they have no right to take your gun even in a state of emergency

That's ridiculous. How else are you supposed to figure out if they've got weapons on them?
