Poyer is 32 and Tremaine was kind of polarizing to fan base 50% thought he was good/great and the other half thought he was below average with not enough splash plays.

Now at 25 he gets a new start on a very young Bears team.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a team captain there

Spot on about Edmonds. I was in the "good/not quite yet great" camp. I hate losing him at such a young age and I don't think our defensive scheme did him any favors. I can see him flourishing in a traditional 4-3 set.

Poyer is still very effective even at 32. We are pretty deep at safety, but I'd be happy if there was a way to keep him and Hyde together a few more years.

The Boss (Beane) said in his season closing presser not to expect any really big top tier FA's

He said he would make a bunch of smaller ones to fill out the roster.

If Poyer doesn't get paid elsewhere I could see him back on a reasonable one year deal.
