Whats funny is that they complain about the visibility but like any car, you have to get used to it by driving it for a few days/weeks.

Also, saying that the GTO is light compared to the Camaro?!?!? LMAO.

I dont get it. The Camaro is better all the way around but I guess blind loyalty is boss. I guess they enjoy the seats stitches coming apart, the rear end sagging to the ground, a trunk that fits MAYBE one and a half golf bags, the overgrown cobalt look and basically the fact it cost the EXACT same as a Camaro when it was new.

I'm guessing the truth is more like..."I really want to buy a new car, but I don't want to/can't spend the money. Maybe I will just convince myself it is crap instead." Anyway, remember when the new GTO's first came out and everybody was waving at you and taking pictures at gas stations? Oh wait, nobody ever did that.
Yep that line right there is always the justifcation used in these things. Trying to validate their opinion on the car and give themselves credit as an unbiased tester.

the camaro is the better car of course. the GTO might have a nice interior but the exterior is in my opinion not good. and non powertrain parts are expensive. plus, the thing has its share of problems with the power door locks and the ignition locking up, not to mention slow moving seats and a pretty much useless trunk. i also think the paint on these cars is kinda weak. but yea, nice interior... though i prefer the camaro's. it has grown on me.

I didn't even notice GTOs. I still don't notice them. And I have a freaking poster of one in my room.

They were, for the most part, very bland, very boring cars. Performance-wise, they were decent, but stylistically, they were a massive flop.

The GTO's are good cars. Thats why they were brought here and labled as GTO's. I love the interior of them too. I kinda wish the Camaro had their interior. Anyways they are so similar in performance/price it stupid to say the other is junk. Exterior wise the Camaro wins hands down IMO though.

I love how someone talks about how he took out and performance drove all these brand new cars (Mustang, Camaro, etc) took it out on switchbacks and tried to powerslide. You need to take it where it comes from, and if he can't justify where and how he was able to do this then hes just another fanboy who is taking his opinion from a short dealership test drive and some reviews he read online.

Its the internet everyone is an expert, and I would be money this guy is an expert in taking magazine reviews and rewriting them to fit his own views. He will probably have some sort of story about how he got to do this that he can't prove eitehr way, but it will sound good....
Absolutely right. I said my peace and stopped posting there unless I'm asked anything politely in which I will return with a polite answer. I won't instigate war over there. The OP clearly won't listen to reason.

It was plain jane and boring, but the quality of the car and interior was a delight.
Absolutely and that's what I did tell them in two follow-up posts. The exterior was not attractive at all, but I did in fact LOVE the interior. The seats were plush leather and really comfortable, as was the rest of the interior. I was definitely fair in that assessment and is probably more in-line with your feelings about it. Saying it was "garbage" was too strong an opinion on my part.

He was clearly on the fence and then this moron posts pure misinformation about Camaros. If you can voice your opinion about Mustangs and Challengers here, we should have to right to intelligently voice our discontent about GTO's. I don't care what anybody says but the GTO's were garbage, despite them being a GM product. The GTO was a half-a**ed project of misguided faith instead of a labor of love like the Gen 5 Camaro.

I just wanted to say that I "HAD" a 2005 Black GTO with the red leather interior and I "LOVED" this car. In the winter I would take the car cover off and would start it just to hear the engine roar. I loved that sound!! Thats what I missed about that car. The car had a large back seat. But the exterior was so bland that I had people with no muscle car knowledge ask if it was a sooped up Cavalier!! That did bother me.
I bought the GTO as my first real sports car but I couldn't help the fact that I wanted a real Sports/Muscle car look to go with it. Hence the day I fell in love with the concept Camaro!!
So, March of this year I sold my GTO and the ordered my Camaro in October and got it 6 weeks later November 20!!! My Camaro always gets looks and is pointed at where ever I drive it!! The only thing I would change about my Camaro if I could would be to make more rear seat leg room.................but I really don't expect to have anyone in the back seat!! Unless I am going to Christen it with the wife!
I was also a member of the LS2GTO site and I hated how they always put everyone elses cars down and the GTO as the best thing since sliced toast!! I love most muscle cars for one reason or another and who's car is better or the best is a matter of opinion and personal taste.
I just so happen to LOVE my Camaro but it doesn't mean I don't like the GTO, Challenger or Mustang. I just didn't buy those cars, except for the GTO but I sold it due to my LOVE of the Camaro styling!! We just all need to drive our Muscle Cars and enjoy the fact that we have the freedom of Choice to buy what ever "We" like and want to drive!!

I forgot to mention how on the LS2GTO site there are plenty of threads about how they would like to be able to place larger wheels on the GTO..........so they either cut or roll the fenders!? But they mention in the Camaro bashing thread how the Camaro is to wide in the rear?
There also problems with the key phobe with not being able to replace the battery. The problems with the struts rubbing out the wheels. The gas tank not allowing gas to be put in because something causes the pump to shut off?! The strut mounts breaking down after about 10,000 miles. The seat leather discoloring. Really thin paint. The suede leather trim in the interior falling apart. The really bad stock stereo system. Etc...
I just wanted to add to the why the GTO is so superior to the Camaro thing.....and like I said I owned one.

Well.. I think it is almost human nature to love on what you have, and hate on others. I mean look how quick people were to piss on the GTO in this thread.

On thing people forget is the Camaro is a Zeta Coupe, so it actually an evolution of the GTO and shares DNA. It is better because it is a newer version, just like a PS2 is better than a PS3. If they had continued making the the GTO, it would have been very similar to Camaro.

I personally own both..and they each have their advantages. For instance, the Camaro is a rock star..and when you drive one..everyone else on the road notices and starts acting like idiots the second they see you. On the flip side, you can drive a GTO unnoticed, and then outta nowhere hand someone their ass. It is probaly the sleeper of the decade. In terms of performance and braking, the Camaro wins...which it should. In terms of livability, however I like the GTO. It has a nicer interior (better materials), more comfortable interior, and a much larger back seat. The Camaro is more like driving a butt on the floor Corvette and has several ergonomic/packaging compromises to fit the styling. While the Camaro has a larger trunk, it's usability is hindered by the opening. While the Camaro dies have a nicer radio and bluetooth, the GTO has a stereo that is much easier to replace so you can add these features.

Either way..I think because of the styling alone, the GTO and Camaro would definatly appeal to different groups.

My G8 is still alive and kicking want to see

People shouldnt care what people think of there cars. As long as you like it thats all that matters. & there will always be someone faster.

They call my G8 a: G6 - grocery getter, soccer mom car (on this site) but its all good I love my car...

The G8 will always have parts for it its a GM engine that uses the same parts as other popular engines. L76 manifold L92 heads 6l80e trans ....

I like the G8, GTO & the new Camaro I just chose the 4dr cause it is practical for me and my family....

I am trying to talk the old lady in to buying a new SS CAMARO, SRT8 CHally or G37/370Z...

I have always thought it unfair for someone from another forum coming to someone elses forum and start ragging on their cars... I mean would you want someone to walk into your home and tell you your wife/husband is so much uglier than theirs? Same difference... when you are in their "House" respect their "Family"

I don't care what they say between themselves.. if they want to find out more about the Camaro, tell them to just come to this forum and read. all they need to know is here..
