I agree with all the above. I just ran across this at CNN and thought, what a joke! Sometimes it just makes ya wonder what they report.

"The Challenger received an overall rating of 53 out of a possible 100, which is close to the lowest score in Consumer Reports' "Sporty Car" category"

Ouch...

Quick FYI on CR Tests.

CR Road Test Scores.

Camaro - 2SS MT - 71/100
Mustang - GT Premium V8 MT - 78/100
Challenger - R/T V8 MT - 53/100

Differences between mustang and Camaro where minor and spread out. (good-neutral, great-good, etc.)

If they took the Chally and put a "Toyota" badge on it then it would have scored 40-47 points higher.

I've drivin the Challenger. Looks pretty cool and all but sucks otherwise! Straight line is pretty damn good but fails miserably as a daily driver. For anyone who says the Camaro has blindspot issues, try, and I do mean try, driving a Challenger! Good luck not hitting somethin' coming out of a parking space.

Can't comment on whether any of the following are correct as I haven't driven either yet (take delivery on Thurs.).

Just some examples of the point diff:

Lost a point because of intuitiveness of controls.
Lost a point because of the transmission
Lost a point because of how easy it is to get in and out of the car.
Lost 2 points because of crash test ratings.

Come on guys, it's Consumer Reports! Not a magazine I read when making car decisions.

Both Challenger and Camaro are great choices, but the blind spots are 'challenging' (yes, pun intended).

Has the challenger sold very many units at all, since it was reintroduced? I suspect with such a small poll base, it's not hard to please most of them. It's weird that all the review magazines have been pretty hard on the challenger as a lumber wagon with a big, gas hog engine.

+1 except it wasn't a TV.

Although if you combine their recommendations with user comments and other reviews sites you get a good idea on a lot of things. I would not trust them for cars though.

Basically just find as much info as you can and make up your own damn mind

Curious...I dont just try to drive a Challenger..I DO drive a Challenger on a daily basis as my primary vehicle and daily driver. I've yet to hit anything at all, I've parked in every parking situation that a normal driver encounters...so..?

In terms of visibility and blind spot issues the Challenger is second out of the three, with the Mustang being the easiest to see out of and the Camaro the hardest.

The Camaro is 186 inches long..the Challenger is 197. Their wheel-bases are only 4 inches apart. Overall 13 inches doesnt matter a whole hell of a lot when it comes to handling, both are large, heavy, stable cars.

Yes, the Challenger uses a modified LX platform and chasis from the 300, Magnum and Charger.

The Camaro uses the Zeta platform which is essentially the same as the Pontiac G8 and Holden Commodore.

So the snide, crappy little jabs about "its just a reskinned Charger" can be said in a similar way to the Camaro "its just a modified and reskinned G8".

The Challenger is the Charger asthe Camaro is to the G8..deep down inside, behind the new exterior and interior..its very closely related.
