Better off saving to rent one. Insurance will eat your wallet up as well. Unless, you're like the kid that got one for his 16th B-day, save up for an opportunity to get one...

I was being sarcastic and joking around with Indpower. Seriously, I know you wouldn't ask him for any money. It's all good man. In all honesty, you should contact AVIS or another rental car company and reserve a Camaro. Who knows, maybe you could even get an SS or a Corvette. They are roughly the same price. Renting the car for two weeks would run you under $2000.00. Better then trying to raise $22K.

I like my del sol but the thing is a slug. I have no idea how to make it faster - there is so much online telling me this and that but when it comes down to buying and installing something im lost. Maybe I should just put money into the Sol but I don't know where it should go

Maybe try doing a few local bake sales / car washes, since it appears that you are looking for donations not sponsors!

Maybe put a donation jar at the local gas station if your lazy! j/k

This costs a lot of money so I am looking for a sponsor to pay for my grinds and beer. I will take pics on my cell phone and have strippers pose with my car at every major city I go thru. Need help and anything helps..
Sure sounds like a plan to me! Maybe I can find some sponsors for my trip to the Camaro Fest...

anywho, to the OP, you're probably best off with renting one but it'll cost a good chunk for those kind of miles to be put on it.

Well you are in luck....I have read your convincing arguement for "sponsorship" and have decided I will buy you a Camaro so you can embark on this 2 week cross country odyssey next year...I hope you will have a good time with the $35000 car I'm gonna buy you......NOT

IT was hard to type that without wetting myself. Do you honestly expect people you have never met to "Sponsor" this cross country trip in a new Camaro? I think you should focus on riding with one of your friends....a much better way to enjoy the trip without basically turning to handouts from strangers.

Working for anything and achieving it makes it that much better, and I think you would find that learning about your Del Sol, fixing it up, and taking pride in it would be satisfying.

Good luck in your quest....we were all young once, so I find myself kind of hoping you get to take the trip and enjoy it, but Im also hoping that you earn your way instead of having someone give it to you.

Im not meaning sponsor in the sense of putting posters on the side of the car. Ive seen people get class trips to rome and france and other things payed off by doing a certain amount of service ours, getting people to pay say a buck per hour. get enough people to do it each hour you can make enough and Im pretty sure I can work as many hours as I want with that haha

I don't believe they'll rent you a car if you're under 21. Even if you're 21, 21-24 year olds have to pay extra. :(

Macs and Windows boxes are all the same. It's just different ways of doing similar things. Neither is the better choice - it's all opinion.

Like I said, Donation!! Asking for money for nothing in return for the investor and no service provided by you.

I know exactly what your saying. You are trying to do what people do for March of Dimes where people walk or run for 'X' cent a mile and collect money from people that would sponsor them. That is still a donation but it is for a better cause than you wanting money for a fun trip.

Like other have said, this is more of a local thing. Nobody around here where I live in Georgia is getting asked by High School kids in California to help pay for a trip to France or Spain or where ever!?!? Get real!

Totally forgot about the 21 years of age thing. Don't bother putting money into your Del Sol. Save yer pennies! You have many years of saving ahead of you. Try not to get too ahead of yourself at 16 or you'll easily get yourself into trouble. Believe me. It's happened to me at 18. Had a 1988 Beretta GT I loved and I drove it to Tower Records one day after work. That day, Hurricane Andrew hit and the roads were atrocious. I took my eyes off the road for a second and I swerved out of my lane and hit an oncoming car (not fast). Paid 3K in damage all charged on a credit card and I only worked like 2 days a week (8 hours total at $6.50 an hour). Save your money and get something you really want! Good luck man!
