Just for reference sake, here is the interior the FJ is meant to compete against:

You are supposed to be able to take hoses to cars like this-on the inside.

Why are you comparing interiors of vehicles that are made to be dirtied? Though a lot of owners (Aunt) never even use them for their primary purpose.

Well Captain, I think you ignored my prior response- but the Toyota fj cruiser is a retro off the fj40 based on a vehicle in existance long before the h3 was a twinkle in some dudes eye (see my prior). The FJ and Jeep have been sparring partners for decades and the loss of the FJ to the off roaders was much like the loss of the Camaro to the Muscle car world. There's a lot of people on this board who know a lot more about 1/4 mile times and speed than I do, but I've been off-roading for 20 years and the fj40 (and the FJ Cruiser) have a lot of respect on that side of the fence. If anything the H3 owes more to the FJ than the FJ to the H3. No denegration of the H3 intended, it was a fine vehicle in it's own right but it had some reliability issues and never gathered up as much aftermarket support as Jeeps and FJs did. *edit, I think they were both 06 my intros too, so I don't think 1 could have copied the other*

The Cruiser has real wheels/tires/transaxles/low range/locking axles- it's a pretty sturdy beast and I've seen them in places you could never dream of taking a Terrain. I'm not drinking the Kool-aid, my hunting rig is a Dodge- but Toyota makes a pretty good off road rig.
I wasn't comparing the two, Tac likes the Terrain.

the only toyota to own is an old beater the new ones feel and sound CHEAP!!! My Camaro feels, sounds and runs MUCH MUCH nicer That explains their current quality issues. GM's doing it right.

My bad. I thought everyone was aware that the announcement of the H3 going into production caused Toyotie to ressurect the FJ Loser.
