Not to mention, the camaro is NA, which means a tune can only do so much, the SHO has forced induction, where they can control boost, which is why they got it that fast, guarantee they took that tune off the car right after they ran it

AWD is where the big advantage is, I would guess from a roll the Camaro would be the clear cut winner. We also don't know how agressive the tune was. With turbo's the tune is limited by the strength of the bottom end. Sure it can run a 12.7 at the track on the weekends but can it really be streetable and handle high boost everyday of normal driving. Anyone can jack up the boost for a few impressive runs, I highly doubt the majority of tuned SHO's will be able to run a 12.7

I just wish Chevy would just stop the dancing around and make the Caprice available to the public. Would it hurt that much?

I dunno, the G8 is not that great of a platform according to more than I few people I've spoken to that currently own one. Here is one example pulled from another board:

Guys, haven't been on here in a while and it seems the setup has changed some...so not really sure where I should have posted this...but anyhow:

I traded my 2004 A4 GTO w/ 75,000 miles in on a 2008 G8GT and come October I will have had the G8 now for a year. I have 25,000 miles currently on the car........and GOD DO I MISS MY GTO

At 75,000 miles my GTO had better paint, fit and finish, and overall wear and tear than my '08 GT w/ 25,000 miles. The transmission on the G8 GT is just a grenade waiting for the pin to be pulled, it shifts like some drunk blind retard monkey is operating the transmission. The paint chips if you sneeze on it.

I could go on and on and on, but let me say lastly, the G8's suspension is total pure CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've had all the bushings, both front Lower control arms, and both front struts mounts replaced already, I had all that done by 20,000 miles, and now w/ an additional 5,000 miles of mostly highway driving the front end is starting to fall apart yet again. I'm upside down on the car and need something reliable, roomy, and comfy for my job (sales/purchasing lots of travelling and visiting customers).

DO NOT BUY ONE DO NOT DO IT

keep your GTO and cherish that SOB cuz they're just sweet...some bastard has mine with all the sweet upgrades I had done while I'm stuck w/ a POS rattle trap.

It's so easy to say i'm trolling when I am not. The person to whom I was refering to got the joke. He knew what i meant. Next time i will make it clear who I am talking to.

Lighten up. I know this is an attempt to run me and maybe a few others away but I still think this was a relevant thread.

To be 4400 lbs, get a tune, and run in the 12's is pretty impressive. Might even make that Cop only G8 somehow be available for the public again.

One opinion doesn't make it fact. Just saying mayne. I've heard a lot more good things about the G8 than I've heard bad.

We have a G8 GT and it is great for a stock daily driver. Now if you want to really push it at the track.. yes its going to need some work. It responds well to upgrades im not sure what that guy is talking about. If you want to see how good the G8 can be do a search for the pedders G8.... its crazy fast!
