Enforce the left lane law and abolish all speed limits on rural interstates FTW!

The law, like most motor laws, is a joke. It's just another way they can legally take money from you. As mentioned, -1 or +1 could net you a ticket in the left lane. The laws don't usually state that you must go X mph above the speed limit to be illegal. That's why it's a limit.

When will people learn that more laws doesn't always mean safer streets? It's not about that. It's about REVENUE.

Isn't Washington the same state that wants to tax your odometer in addition to the gas tax due to "electric cars" not having to use as much fuel, thus reducing their overall tax revenue? Wasn't electric cars the answer for saving the environment? Maybe that was Oregon. Pretty much the same governmental viewpoints in both states perhaps.

Bucket list: Visit all 50 states...scratch that, 49 (Washington is now off the list).

This is my number one complaint about the American driving system... it's easier to get a drivers license than almost any other thing you do. There are no standards for driving classes. It should be WAY harder than it is to get a license, and you should be forced to keep up on your drivers education.

Left lane laws are great, but like everyone else said, they're never enforced. And enforcing them against the speed limit is stupid because no one in the left lane is maxing at the speed limit.

Thats right! Lesson to be learned? If you are holding someone up in the left lane, get the $#%@ out of teh way.....now. I would support a law that allow a pit-maneuver to be used if you cruise in the left lane in a non-passing mode for more than lets say 30 seconds. It pretty easy not to be an ass in the left lane too, but it requires paying as much attention to the rear view mirror as the windshield. Wait, thats called good driving. What a concept. maybe the autonomous car concept should be required if you can't pass a certain skill level test. Thank you all for hearing my rant. I feel much better.

PS: Kidding about the pit part!

Yep, I was going to say... it's going to be rough trying to enforce this.

Most states do have this law. Including the one the OP lives in

People should be punished for driving slower than the speed limit anywhere. No matter what lane they are in. Unless they are in hazardous conditions, then they need their flashers on.

Slower than the speed limit, No flashers on, you will be the receiver of rage in Indiana.

in FL many Trucks like to travel in the left lane blocking views and driving at times below speed limit..... they need to stay in the right lane so traffic can move more freely..... unfortunately these trucks are traveling on two lane roads so there is no middle lane for truckers to stay in.... would be nice if most of the truck drivers were more considerate of how they are affecting traffic.

As long as your not an idiot like someone I've seen multiple times on my trip in to work in the morning. The speed limit is 65...most will hit 70 - 72 as the norm.

This person, in the newer black Honda Civic constantly pushes 80 or so mph, and will get on anyone's @SS that is in their way. But it doesn't end outside of the city. I've seen this person multiple times inside the city where traffic conditions are obviously more congested...and everytime I see them they are riding on someone's behind, or weaving in and out of traffic just to try and get one more spot ahead. Its ridiculous and pisses me off.

So please...don't be like this DBAG. Only explanation I can come up with is that this lady came from another place...maybe a large city where she is used to extremely aggressive driving...or she just never learned how to drive/doesn't give a rat's butt about speed laws.

In KS when I was there I have seen a cop get behind a slow moving vehicle in the left lane to move them over.
In WA not ever - but it'll be nice to have it enforce.
In drivers ad they do teach people that its the passing lane and to get back over, don't just camp.

Florida would make a KILLING in tickets. All those blue haired elders who can barely see over the steering wheel, left turn signal on, and driving 10 mph under the limit in the left lane......or any lane for the matter.
