what is a proper timing gear? unless i'm missing something here...
the top speed achieved that day was just over 208mph... the "certified" top speed has to be done in both directions, and then averaged... so going one way it was 208, going the other way it was slightly slower... the average was something like 205.3mph.

proper timing gear = testing equipment... not a speedo or a GPS, but a full timing gear and all of the accuracy that comes with it.

and, btw, this car did 208mph with a passenger and all the test equipment in the car... so figure that the actual top speed without a passenger and gear, plus a light tail wind is going to be somewhere in the 212-215mph range... I'd like to see a video of a 599GTB doing 208mph... and this comes from a Ferrari fan, not some "GOD BLESS AMERICA" import hater... Ferrari is famous for saying, "our car can go XXXmph" and then having nothing to support the fact and no car magazine can ever duplicate it.
