Very nice ride! The war rages on and all of us will benefit from it. I am guessing some round about base price of 65k but you won't be able to find one on a dealer lot for less than 70K with destination, gas guzzler, few options, maybe dealer options like paint protection undercoating...

This looks aimed directly at the Z/28 so I would expect Z/28 money for it. What every they save from going with steel rotors would be offset by the 5.2 FPC.
I look forward to the Z/28 vs GT350 but, using thePill's logic, the result is irrelevant since the Z/28 won't be in production anymore.

It was developed by GM's Delphi but sold off. I believe they own the rights to the 3rd version used in the ZL1 and C7. On a similar note. I think the Ford guys will really enjoy the performance and streeability of the system and realize it's not a gimmick.

I don't see the GT350 providing as much ultimate grip as the Z28 which has 305 front and rear plus the Trofeo tires. I see acceleration and track times falling between the ZL1 and Z28. And then the M6 guys will still be crying about the Trofeo's.

This thing looks awesome. Also if anyone has not heard the exhaust note there's a video somewhere. Holy. Shit. Amazing.
Kinda curious about that "grille surround" that adds stiffness to the car. I wanna know how it does exactly because it sounds like they are throwing every little detail in hopes it makes it seem like they really did a lot. Obviously they did a lot of changes to the car to make it better but really, a grille surround? Not trying to stir up anything, I really like it. Just curious about the full details.

Seriously impressed. That is a bada$$ looking car and I think it would look incredible parked beside my ZL1 in my driveway. The one thing I'm interested in seeing is the weight of this pony. The ZL1 gained a lot of lbs with mag. Ride and safety features so if Ford is going to be a real contender with this car it needs to be lighter than the Z's or they just may end up in a HellCat sort of challenge. If it comes in 3,800 or less I'd think it's going to be a real contender.
Just Love the look of it. Nice job Ford boys 'n girls.

Hold up, this mustang is using MagnaRide!!!! Are we going to here certain mustang enthusiasts complain how this is illegal in many racing circuits? Also this is a GM technology! Oh the irony!!!

It looks like Ford contracted for a specific tire to be designed just for the GT350. They're serious about this, folks. |

Can't see it being more than $60k since a new GT500 is in the works.

That size tire isn't legal for racing, is it? What about the brakes and mag ride?

Nice car...can't wait to find out more about it.
Nice looking car as well. Still doesn't grab me any more than the 5th gen does, but I'll say it certainly looks better than the regular Mustang body style. Way to early for me to think its a Z/28 beater, but then again it might be. Sounds like there will be a regular version and then an "R" version. Which will be more inline with a Z/28? Would the R be street legal, or would they go all out and make it a competition only machine? Over 500 HP and 400TQ. Nice, but how much more? It may not make much or any more power than the LS7 in the Z/28, but suspect the HP will be well over 500 and not just 505 like the LS7. Also, the Z/28 weighs around 3,800 lbs, and I suspect this car will come in around 3,700 to 3,800 lbs as well, so no huge advantage there. The lack of carbon ceramic brakes takes away some of the potential cost, but I still see this car being 60 - 65K or more. The R version would be 70+ unless its an all out compeition only car like I mentioned above...then I'd expect a lot more.

Still not enough to lure me from a Camaro, but this body looks a WHOLE lot better in the 350 form and the FPC is definitely thinking outside the box. Unfortunately, as others believe, it will be a mid-60s at the lowest price. I don't think I would kick one out of the garage on looks this time around. First time in my life I've ever said that.
The rivalry lives on! Great for all of us Pony Car lovers!

I'll be shocked if they can keep the weight down on the GT350 with Mag ride involved. Safety standards are a must and they still have a nice info/entertainment system involved so I can see this car growing like the ZL1 did. But, an R version for serious track guys would be one way to strip it down for good track times. Also, have to add the Camaro hate on the Mustang boards is really amusing. All of a sudden Mag. ride is AWESOME, and it'll kill all Camaros. I really feel they may be a bit disappointed when compared to a Z/28 or even the ZL1. It won't have the suspension as good as one and I'm guessing less power than the other. I really feel after reading some more on this GT350 that it'll be closer to a ZL than anything. And only 3-4 years late to the party. Again, great times to be a car nut.
