I really doubt Ford gives a rip about the ATS-V.

Same here. Looking forward to see how it performs against what GM Offers.

Because everyone knows that Cadillac is the Mustang's greatest competition.

Not really. The current car has way better handling than the outgoing one, and the interior is leaps and bounds better. It's just like in 2010; Ford is waiting for the new Camaro, and then will bring the powertrain upgrades to coincide with it.

Ford doesn't compete with any GM car that can beat them. The fact that they're competing with BMW and GM is competing with BMW is a complete coincidence.

True ! But you know this car shouldn't have just been a better handling car ! Why even buy it over a 13 or 14 ? As far as performance? Because what car are you really beating with just a little bit of handling?

I didn't know Chevy was competing against BMW because I thought that's what Cadillac is for? And remember when ford said that they are aiming at BMW and some other luxury brand but didn't name Chevy ! What a failure to aim at BMW but ford forgot Chevy is where it's won or lost. And couldn't even come close to Chevy!

Why did anyone buy 2010 camaros over ls1 fbodies...because newer and better and different tastes.

Your little bit of handling argument totally negates any zl1 over gt500 debate.... its preference

Its not just like 2010, you are dreaming. In 2010, Ford had been using the same basic tired 4.6L motor for 15 years. They got away with that due to GM's focus elsewhere and bad then non-existent F body sales. When the Camaro was on its way Ford had no choice, and spent a lot of money to develop the 5.0-and it is a thoroughly modern and competitive powerplant. They just made updates to this engine to try and compensate for the additional weight, they won't be doing it again in 2 years.

With all that said, I think the GT350 has a lot of promise, I can't wait to see it.

Obviously they won't replace the 5.0, but there's lots of talk about the 5.0 getting DI around the same time the new Camaro shows up. The 5.0 is still young; there's lots more room for growth there.

Well, the '15 Mustang is a hair slower in a straight line than the outgoing one, and much faster on a road course. The general consensus is that the '11-'14 Mustangs are a hair faster than the Camaro, so it's still a driver's race between the two.

You're correct in that Ford should have provided the '15 with more power, but having owned an '11 5.0 and driven a '15, I can tell you the '15 is a MUCH better car. Night and day.

Considering the epic failure that is Lincoln, they really don't.
