This is getting more complicated than needed. Let me simplify it. If you want a smooth ride, then test a car with and without mag ride in eco or weather mode. Both will be at their smoothest suspensions. Any suspension modes from there will stiffen it to accommodate increased performance driving.
What he's saying, is that the owner's manual says you can manually select it through the personalization settings menu like you can with the dual mode exhaust and steering. The manual says that, but that's not actually true.
