Seriously. I don't think people realize every full size sedan is expensive these days. The old W-body Impala was dirt cheap because it was ancient and loaded with incentives. Hell Malibu reaches $30k in some trims.

The pricing structure makes sense. Look at it as an Impala SS. RWD V8 full size sedan, fully loaded, and what do you know, starts where an Impala LTZ leaves off.

And it already beat Charger in comparison tests. So...

I'll agree it isn't as flashy as Charger, but there's a market for cars like that.

When I purchased my 1LE they had a black SS in the showroom. I understand the price and it's a shame it has the gas guzzler tax tacked on. It has a nice interior feel to it as well. But, unfortunately I wasn't sold on the mild styling and I would need it with a manual transmission.

It's just not for me, personally. But the stock exhaust is louder than our non-npp Camaro SS, it sounded great when they fired it up!

Sticker price should have been around 35k+. Seems for 415hp, 43k + is beyond a fair price.

Got a question? Don't know who all is on here, but why do they not make these cars in a two door anymore? There has to be a younger market for a really fast nice SS Maibu (Chevelle) in a two door. Why not make the Impala in a two door again? Are the sales for two door cars that bad????

Pretty dismal. It's a different story for luxury brands (CTS Coupe, 4-series, C-class Coupe, etc) but midsize/full size mainstream coupes are a hard sell.

Agreed. This thing is B-L-A-N-D...BLAND! It's named the "SS", but nothing about it says performance besides the 6.2L engine. The exterior could pass for an Oldsmobile Intrigue. Why not make it aggressive looking like the G8 GT? Agreed with others too, the SHO and SRT8 Charger look better (more aggressive).

Actually an Impala SS with the XTS's AWD system and LF3 engine would be pretty awesome.

Yup, the fact that I was able to buy a new G8 GT off the showroom floor that had been there for over 9 months was ridiculous. And the fact that I paid only $25,500 for that G8 GT is crazy too.

The SS doesn't touch the G8 for exterior style. It's sad too, as here is so much potential there.
