Now that there is a ATS coupe I see no reason not to bring back the GN with the top dog being a GNX coupe on the ATS platform with the 3.6 TT

I would , but at what cost ?
To be successful it has to be within reach of the average car buyer, not $50-60k .
And I just dont see that happening :-(

To tell the truth I wish GM would come out with a true off road vehicle about the size of a Jeep Wrangler....I miss the little S-10 Blazer.

It would be a tough sell to take on the wrangler. Most vehicles opt for the not quite so off road approach like the Toyota fj, or xterra off road or raptor. It is a niche market for the wrangler and they really have it down (own a Rubicon, traded in an x terra for it). Not to mention building the aftermarket for it.

I would love to see it, but I think the closest we would get is a trailblazer off road edition with a few improvements (maybe lockers or disconnecting sway bar, hill descent, more agressive tires and suspension) that would fit into that off road capable but not near a wrangler without a lot of work type vehicle.

U do realize the original GNX was really expensive in its day and out of reach for most regular people only 547 were ever made So I do see it being priced as such in the future 50 to 60k for a GNX on the alpha platform with the 3.6TT V6 as well that would be priced about right in my book but a GN should be cheaper around 40k.

I should have been more clear ..
I was referring to the TBSS in my 1st post .

I didn't mean like a Wrangler but about the Size of a Wrangler. The previous trailblazer had too much overhang to be a serious off roader.

We sell a LOT of TBSS CAI's, even now all these years later they still sell on a regular basis, which I find pretty cool. A friend of some guys here has a nice TBSS, they are nice trucks and can move pretty good with a few simple bolt-ons. It would be cool for GM to hit this market and to compete with the JGC SRT8

Yeah, tha'ts all I'm saying I would like to see a little competition. It doesn't have to be in the same 55-60k price range as the JGC SRT8, but can at least be up to performance standards. The JGC SRT8 is the king of the performance SUV realm only bowing down to the Porsche Cayenne GTS which is price at 100k+ out the door.

Competing with the JGC would be a tall order. The fit/finish on the last trailblazer was awful. Panel gaps, interior quality, etc.

Hope those days are over.

My father had a 2006 TBSS. It cost him $36,000 brand new. It was a fully loaded RWD. When I was shopping around for a new car, I had stop into a Dodge/Jeep delear to look at a used 300 SRT8 (it had sold the 2 days before on me). The dealer tryed to get me to buy a used Jeep SRT8 with 15,000 miles on it. They wanted $45,000 for it. I asked why would I pay that much for the Jeep when Chevy was selling the TBSS for $38,000 new. He said but the Jeep has more power. I looked at him and said, "Ya, 30hp more. For the extra $7k I can add more then 30hp to a TBSS." I left the Jeep dealer and went straight to the Chevy dealer next door. I asked if they had any used TBSS's, but they didn't. However they put me into a brand never 2010 1SS LS3 Camaro for $31,000. That was $14,000 less then the used Jeep SRT8 with the same power.
