I think they will. Ford is planning to use this new Mustang platform to build a rival to the Scion and Toyota. GM isn't going to let Ford walk away with that market share when they build their car.

A 21st Century Opel with a Bowtie and some Turbo power would be sick...

GM will let Ford do all the market R&D see how sales go and then follow. That's the game they have played lately. Kinda how Walmart operated back in the 80's. Let K-mart see if a store was feasible in a area, if they built a store then Walmart followed a year later.

I agree, but being that I fit the demographic those cars are marketed towards I think they're missing out. Wasn't the Code 130r supposed to be for the early to mid 20s crowd? GM is leaving money on the table.

I'm 50 and would buy it in a instant for my work car. Wish they would build it.

GM should build the Tru 140 but make it mid engine to keep the FWD proportions and make it a drivers car. The LF3 should fit nicely. Haha

Might see a lot of the 140S's DNA on the next-gen Cruze.

Interesting..

I really like that concept other than it being FWD.

My first thought when I opened the thread was the Opel GT. A modern 300hp turbo 4 Opel GT, I could see GM selling enough of those here and abroad to make a feasibility study worth the time.

I would say make a Turbo 4 camaro to compete with the Mustang, Subie/scion, and other cheaper rwd sport coupes. But I also see there being a market for a 2.0t Cruze more along the SS Cobalt DNA that would be cheaper and a good hot hatch and Civic SI fighter.
