And it's going to have independent rear suspension. That's really exciting no more crappy live rear axle

The Mustang guys will like it but I don't see it stealing too many sales from other manufacturers. They will most likely steal the sales race from the Camaro for a year until the sixth gen comes out.

Not even close to the 400lbs lost or whatever was floating around. Expect the GT to lose 100 - 200 lbs. Still a good loss, but not nearly what was rumored.

200 lost would really be an accomplishment considering what it already weighs. We could see V6 models creep closer to mid 5 second 0-60s if this happens. Hopefully the new V6 Camaro makes that happen too.

I think it looks good, ford is going with the large front grille on most of there cars now. I'm just happy that is doesn't look like some other render I saw online a few months back. I don't have anything against ford or the mustang, it's a beautiful car.
I do hope the 6th gen gets that twin turbo 6 pushing at least the 410hp the caddy does. I'm assuming that Chevy will compete with the turbo 4 as well, while I don't agree with it, makes sense from a buyers standpoint. Get all of the show and a bit of go without sacrificing fuel Economy. |

A 200 lb loss would bring the base GT power to weight ratio very near the Z/28. If they put good tires and brakes on the car and the IRS isn't a horrible mess it will be very quick for the money. If they can wedge the 5.8 GT500 engine in there somehow and we assume it would pick up a few hundred pounds, that's a power to weight ratio in ZR1 territory.

According to the test mules, the hood vents will be further back. Other than that, I believe this is the closest render yet.

Looks OK. But a lot of the Mustang guys don't think this is it. So I will withhold judgement.
Even if the Mustang only loses 100lbs, that's still a large gap between the Camaro and Mustang. I fear even though the Camaro is supposed to lose weight on the Alpha platform, it isn't going to be as much as everyone is hoping for.

I agree. The only thing they got right in the rendering is the front, because that's already been shown.
