Well, its nice to see this post and read replies that liked the G8. It is a great car. My first new car and I have no regrets and no problems (March 08). When GM builds this new vehicle, they need a performance model. That's what won me over: power and practicality.
![]() I've always been a fbody guy as I had a modded 96 z28 for years. Now that I've enjoyed the extra room and the performance, I really don't feel right in a coupe anymore. I still would love to have another Camaro, but if I bought one, it would add to my G8 and not replace it. So GM, this is good news. The Commodore has a great formula, dont ruin it. Please, please let the public know about it. You screwed the G8 over by not advertising it enough. Only enthusiasts like me knew about it before it even took the boat ride over here! If GM keeps it close to the Commodore's formula and mainstream the advertising, it will be a success. To this day, I answer many questions about the G8 to people who see it in public. Not one person has ever disliked it (and I asked twice for a honest opinion). ADVERTISE GM!!!

Correct, that's the Long Wheel base Caprice/Statesman or WM Zeta body.
The VM body is the G8 and is a shorter wheelbase than the Statesman. Now if they decide to actually do a WM based Caprice then we more likely than not WILL be looking at the one in the Middle east. But knowing GM, we may have a re-translated Commodore due to the ease of spooling up the production. |

The front looks ok, the rear looks like every other production honda sedan since 95.
Just like most cars today. Same boring ass V shaped trunk. |

That article has it wrong. The Caprice is not going to Oshawa. It would be far too costly to GM to bring production of the Caprice to Oshawa.

Not necessarily. Commodore's already using more or less the same platform as Camaro. And the costs to import Commodores to the US are already pretty steep.
