Just heard on the news the other day, Chicago about to spend 300 million on speed cameras! If they need more revenue just check the politicians pockets!

OH I know, I have been pulled over enough times to know this. But a lot of people don;t and the cops know this and will just pay it when they get the ticket. Hence why they sit there and wait. My mom told me of a ticket she got from a stop sign, unfortunately she told me about after she had already paid it.

In illinois it's not a $1000 for your first offense. I believe it's $140 for up to 20 over the limit unless you're in a school/construction zone.

It was never really about safety. If you wanted to keep people safe, police would patrol intersections, where the majority of accidents occur. Who's more likely to get someone killed? The guy doing 75 in a 65 or the guy who just blew through a red light?

I only drive fast on the hi-way in open clear spots, no weaving in and out and no passing others at 100 mph. But give me a two or three mile stretch that I'm familiar with and the radar detector gives me the "all go" can't think of anything more fun than coming to stop, setting launch control w/foot to the floor and "No Lift" shifting threw three or four gears. Yeah Baby, that gets the heart pumping! |
