I mean....if the kid takes off the belt while you are driving, pull over to the side and put it back on. If he/she takes it off again, I've got a NEW belt for them. No...I've never taken a belt to either of my boys, but you get the message....discipline. We don't go anywhere w/out them and my boy knows it's "cool" to wear his 5 point "racing" harness....hehe.

And thanks, Mindz. I think you've seen that seatbelt vid before. I'm pretty sure I posted it a while back...just sends a powerful message, IMO.
I know exactly what you mean. I worked for a railroad for a few years.... saw my fair share of train vs car accidents... first hand. We had a woman stop on the tracks here about a year or two ago, traffic was heavy but she pulled up anyways.... then the train came, she got out of the car... left her 2 small kids in the back seat (who weren't buckled in)... killed both of them on impact. I wasn't on that train (it was amtrak, hit them at around 80mph).... but I was on one a few years back that hit a car, killed both parents on impact, ejected a 6 day old baby and threw it 100ft and landed on concrete.... somehow the baby actually survived though! I'm pretty strict about seatbelts too...... the car doesn't move unless they're on!

If I think I've been caught speeding. I do everything I can to pull over before the officer can turn his lights on. Only one officer has given me a ticket when I've done this, and that was because his supervisor parked right behind him. He might have been lying I don't care. I was speeding so end of story.
And yes I've been in a pack of cars doing 85-90 on an open freeway and was in the middle of the pack and was the only car pulled over. Again, my fault for speeding in a dropped, blue and yellow flammed custom truck with exhaust mods. They're not gonna pull over the grey acura when they see me.

I know this isn't the point of the thread. SAFETY and SEATBELTS. I haven't had as many tickets as I make it sound. But every time I've been pulled over, I can say I deserved it. And most officers appreciate it when you treat them with respect. You might still get a ticket, but it may for 10 over instead of 20.

Sorry for the rant Tag, But, Your post got me fired up.
Totally agree here.
