Don't know if its the same as the Camaro but maybe it has unleaded gas? I've read that the Camaro under performs if it does have 90+ gas..

Good review. I felt the same way about my 5.0 after test driving it and an SS back to back. The LS3 just feels like you're riding a wave of torque, where the 5.0 just kinda goes and doesn't give you the same sensation of acceleration. However, a 12.77@111 stock proved to me the GT was just as quick as the SS.

sounds exactly like my friends 2013 boss. around 2000 miles on it and they had to pull the trans. needs all new synchros. ford is trying to tell him that it's from abuse!

sweet car otherwise, but that trans is junk.

I would not trade my SS for that boat. I'd just buy a 2.9 Whipple and put that on instead.

+ 1...I have a 2013 5.0 and they need to rev higher to really feel that 420 hp.

Sounds about what I experienced with my 12 5.0. I had just come out of a torque monster in the 392 Challenger and the 5.0 felt weak. My car had the 3:73s and after installing the FRPP tune and 500 mufflers the low end punch improved. The car was fun to drive and the sound of the car under power was beautiful. Unfortunately like others have stated the MT-82 transmission is garbage. My only semi-clean pass with the car while walking it out of the hole and short shifting at 6100 rpm (anything over that locked me out of 3rd) the car ran 13:09 @ 109. I'm sure if it hadn't been for the transmission the car would have run 12:70s, so the lack of low-end torque is made up in high end power.

My 5.0 seems like its got plenty of low end grunt. i have the track pack with 3:73's so im sure that helps lol. Knock on wood my tranny has held up great so far. i know a lot of people have had problems with it, but it shifts so smooth and is geared perfect for the 5.0.

Seem like it's got a lot of low end grunt until you drive an SS, then you can really tell the difference. I came from a G37 so my GT feels like a diesel truck when it comes to torque compared to that car.

I drove both and I agree the SS has more torque down low, but once over 5k, the mustang feels faster and it is.

What about the '07 Corvette? What did you think of that?

I driove an SS. Its no more grunt down low then my 5.0. I can tell a diffrence up top when the SS falls on its face about 4.5-5K RPM and the 5.0 keeps pulling like a train!

I can see how people would feel more grunt down low in the SS. The SS hooks and goes, where as the 5.0 you really have to find the sweet spot or its spin city.
