Thirty-five years ago I could have bought an Edsel convt. $250. with no title. The gear selector was buttomns in the steering wheel center. Either a '58 or '59. Only 76 '60 ragtops were built.

Yes I do. I'll post some when I get on a computer.

Thanks. I really hope so too. We'll find out what's going to happen tomorrow.

The gear selector is really cool. Unfortunately ours doesn't work anymore. However, we're probably going to add a shifter on the floor.

Make sure to communicate all of the issues regarding the vin to the seller. Even once you get it figured out, make sure they know how much work is involved. You could get the car for a steal when they realize you might be the only buyers out there willing to go through all that.

Also post up some pics when you get a chance, those were some beautiful cars!

The seller has already lowered the price $1,400 because of all this. Don't know if he'll lower it more.

I will!

Cool car, needs a total resto. Love the knee knocker A-pillar. That is where the VIN plate should be.

Funny you call it that. That's exactly where I hit my knee when I got in the car.

That's where we looked. Nothing.

I found this for 58-60 T-Birds.
Edsel is part of the FoMoCo family so it should give you an idea where to start looking.

Now if only we could find the Mercury version..

Funny you mention this. The seller and my dad swore that they saw part of the vin on position C, but I couldn't make anything out.
