To the the ones that say its annoying, dont know how you can say that, its meant to help you keep your eyes on the road, no need to look down at the radio or any gauge its right there in front of you.

The HUD does not fill the windshield and you can see thew the HUD so it does not block you in any way, i like to have it low in the windshield, its out of the way and i can see it on top of the hood and out in front.

I'd want it for navigation. Speed and revs, I can kind of sense where those are at without looking at the dash.

Mine came with one....

My Camaro came with the HUD and to tell ya the truth it is a wonderful system! Have never had a car before with this system and I'd want any car or truck I buy in the future to have an option to add it! Just me I guess? RB

I know even in my OLD GTP it was nore than just the speed, it showed info from the radio ie the station which in concert with the steering wheel radio controls meant I never had to take my eyes of the road. What amt of information is showin on the new ones? Nav? bluetooth info? Song info?

HUD is just plain awesome. I haven't looked at my speedo in months. Only time I glance down is to see the tach every once in awhile.

I display the tach on the HUD, so I haven't looked at much other than the DIC on the instrument cluster in a long time...

Since I installed my own HUD w/o the new windshield the display, while not near horrible, still doesn't display the small stuff really well. I would like to see the tach but I have to stay on the MPH or MPH w/ compass & temp.

One of these days I will try to upgrade the glass.

I put one in my '10 SS and I love it. Its one of those things you have to try to understand, not providing it (at least as an option) is a mistake by GM, IMHO.

seems like they would of come up with an overlay or a coating you could put on the glass to clear up the display....simulate whats in the windshield.

I think most people who have had it would say its awesome, most who never had would say they don't need it....

I remember for years my dad saying paying for power locks was stupid, you didn't need them...but today since they come with the car for the most part, he wouldn't want to do without them.....

as stated before, most people are getting along fine without some things, and don't look at the advantages to new things sometimes, all they are looking at it the few extra $'s it cost....

in my mind it offers alot in safety and convenience....you never have to take your eyes of the road, and it doesn't take long to get used to it so your not focusing exclusively on it, I think it took me like 30 minutes to get there.

But I would go with the cost savings as to why they aren't going to offer it...its not always direct savings and it doesn't matter if the actual item costs them that much to install....

I mean take the Camaro, you usually get something like this with a package...
so to make things easy, Ill use numbers I pulled out my rear, say you get the RS package for $5000, and the HUD is included. The HUD costs GM $1500 to install over non HUD. If they remove the HUD as an option, they aren't going to reduce how much the RS package costs, it has other things, so they will still charge $5000 for an RS package, but they will in one swell swoop save/make $1500 for every car they sell with the upgrade over what they used to make, and not increase the line item cost for themselves at all.

You might even say they are ripping the customer off by charging the same they used to for less actual items, but that's economics and market bearing.......

Nav directions from Onstar or your MyLink. Radio tuning/song title when a new song starts. RPM/MPH. MPH/Outside temp.
