I have felt kind of the same way. My time has gone down a lot too. But it's mainly business. The forum is getting less friendly though.

Im pretty new around here and am grateful for the good people and the info available on our cars. I try to help when I can, get help when I need it, and just have fun. There is a whole lot of discussions I steer clear of. Like a transmission or engine choice thread. Or other discussions that are just a waste of time and energy. There is alot of good here and some bad. Just the way it is all over this crazy world. Internet is not a place to get too personal. Don't be an Angrybird Angrybird. Can't take keyboard talking so personal. Alot of times things get taken the wrong way from what somebody meant and then things get started. Cabin fever in Tennessee,,,,,,hmmm interesting.

I haven't left yet, heck who knows I may not leave bit I have been considering it.
Maybe it's just something that happens with forums as they get older and with more members, I seem to recall the same issues with the Sky forum back in 2008.

We've got a lot of people here, and sometimes it takes us just a little bit longer to find the unnecessary members and punt them. I get to them as fast as I can when the post is reported and get a lot of satisfaction telling them to go troll somewhere else. Don't hesitate to report something so I can remove them from our community.

When I report someone it's usually for either in appropriate comments or name calling, if I report someone as a troll I usually don't go by one post but I look at the general tone of many of their previous posts. If I see a general trolling aspect to them I will report them.
Is there a way that a thread starter can delete an entire thread they made if they see posts not going the way it was intended? Or at least give thread starters editing privileges to be able to edit the thread to delete any off topic posts.

Today was so great putting 250 top down miles on the car.
I really like the forum, I have learned a lot here and I try when I am wrong about something admit that I was wrong.
I do have a tendency to call things as I see them and sometimes I have to pry my foot out of my mouth because of it.
This is my exact thought. Over on a truck site I frequent (I am a moderator there) it seems that jan-march are the worst times of the year for people arguing and starting Internet fights and there is an uptick in issuing warnings/bans. Once people start getting out more it mellows out.

Don't let anyone run you off from a forum you love. That is my attitude. Just report the negativity. It will get cleaned up. We have great moderators but they cant be everywhere all the time. They need our help. If you decide to take a break, we will understand but will miss you. And do come back.

This forum is still a good place even if sometimes certain posts/members get out of line or things get interpreted out of context, but there are still good threads & members in the C5 community. Don't go far Angrybird... but if you ever need a break, do shout out at the site where it's more subdued. Now that's a forum I hope won't go down the drain but then again there will likely be far less traffic due to the different types of cars & demographics.

Keep on cruising in your droptop and come back!

I had to take a break from the forums also,I to found people were attacking other people with rude comments. Not part of what I wanted to be associated with. This is a great site and a lot of great people/help and information on here, but it's like the old saying it only takes one bad Apple to spoil the barrel.

I hear you Angrybird. I spend most of my time on here looking for technical information. When I come upon a thread that is unproductive or is starting to have negativity injected, I just quickly back out and look elsewhere. I have to say I have learned a lot here, and there are a lot of knowledgeable people here. Stay cool, enjoy your ride and we'll see you back here.

I have found myself lately posting things then later deleting them after having a chance to think about it. And that bothers me. I hate being negative or critical, but I find myself getting that way reading some of the posts people have been making.

Sometimes certian people have posted someting (usually someone that tends to post the same negative post every chance they get) and I really want to tell them what I think of them. Before I say something to someone that will get me banned I feel it may be best to take a break on my own.

And for the record, I love this community, so I want to keep it awesome. Give me more trolls to ban!
As Blur suggested report the post and we will remedy the situation. We can't be everywhere at once so by reporting the post it helps us get there in a timely manner.
