I saw this last night and thought it was a joke That thing is absolutely hideous. The older model of the Cherokee looks amazing and this is how they follow it up?

As stated before, there is no current Cherokee. This slots in below the Grand Cherokee to replace the Liberty.

This mess is a new introduction of simply the Cherokee.

The new 2014 "Grand" Cherokee looks like this:

V8 5.7L will still put out 360HP but gets an 8-speed auto in '14. They also introduce a bio-diesel option.

Incredibly ugly... but imagine the incentives they'll have to put on these to sell them! LOL

I'd be willing to bet the little things on top are only running lights. The actual headlights are the big things in the middle. That's how the Juke is I think. Those whould have to be some expensive funky LED technology, an HID wouldn't fit in that little shape.

Keep in mind that we haven't seen even a side view yet. At least everything I've seen is front or front quarter. No interior either. With so many CUVs in this size range you have to start differentiating somehow. And now that Jeep is using Fiat underpinnings it may be more difficult.

Also the former Chrysler designers worked this way. I saw a clinic result years ago on the Ram Pickup compared to the Chevy. Almost no one "hated" the Chevy, but it's "love" score was not where near the Dodge which was way up there. The bad thing was the "hate" score for the dodge was equal to the "love" score. Where the GM had little negative, the Ram had huge negative and huge positives. This Cherokee will probably be the same. It won't be the best seller, but the people that buy them will love them.

Funny. I was recently thinking of getting an old (1996 or earlier) Jeep Cherokee, so I've been looking them up online and that older body style is way better looking than the 2014 one.

It's like having an excruciatingly ugly kid. YOU are the only one in the room who knows you must love him/her. And even you will be wondering what went wrong in the gene pool to some extent. Everyone else will say how unique or cute or whatever, only to run to the nearest restroom to puke up their lunch.

Friggin Cherokee makes this look sexy:

Don't mind the look of anything on it besides the headlights. Those have to go.
