I'll buy the Caddy. Even the first gen ones were pretty decent.

Not to:troll: (sorry mods) but I feel I must mention something about the EV1. Yes, General Motors did kill it off, which saved money but also ended a potentially promising program (what prototype and early technological development doesn't lose money?) but they were certainly not alone. This past January I was at the Peterson Automotive Museum, and they had some fairly interesting alternative fuel displays. They had a Honda electric vehicle, and had this plaque for it. I think this settles it once and for all:

Better yet, give it to someone on this board who appreciates American Muscle. I volunteer.

But, you also have to remember, GM took everything useful that they learned from the EV1 and now have a real world long term program for an electric car. Who knows how far they can apply the lessons they learned.
I just want to see how fast they can get the Volt to launch! Electricity rocks for torque!

Not to pile on, but I think the CTS may have been invented based on prior posts.

Yeah, they did take what they learned, but they also lost some time when they didn't do anything on EVs for a couple years.

Anyway, someone really needs to make a compilation of the most epic fails to be posted on Camaro5, including DEI (oh God), the FWD Mustang (remember the snow chains), rinsing the oil out of the engine (oh look, another Mustang), the Highlander Hybrid breaking down and being towed by a GM tow truck at the Nascar race, and now this. We're gonna be rivaling Failblog soon.

Edit: Almost forgot about the police officer busting the guy on those Florida chat boards.

Possibly true but we don't really know what they have been experimenting with that we were never shown. With the battery tech of the 90s a good, long term massed produced electric car was probably not feasable. Heck, look at the production problems Tesla is still having.
What matters now, is the Volt is a go and probably the beginning of something truly outstanding.
Personally, I would love to see a program for drag racing using electric cars. That could get insane.

Ok, I think we've had enough of this. AJC, I'm sorry you feel the way you feel, but in the future, try to do some proper research. You fell for an April Fool's joke (2 months late) and you're basing your comments on biased views without looking at the other side.
