Not really. There are other companies that protect their IPs and charge to license it. But no other company has done what Apple just did; simultaneously screwing all consumers over, by $1 billion and stifling legitimate innovation.

The $1B was set by the jury, not Apple. And Apple is doing just that, protecting their IPs. Samsung could have requested licensing from Apple but chose not to. This does not stifle innovation at all. It's simply what major business corporations do. Not that I agree with this, but it does not have much effect on us as consumers. LG has sued Sony, vice versa, and even now Samsung is suing LG over OLEDs.

Back to the iPhone 5: From what I've been reading, pre-orders start at 12am on Friday 9/14. And if you currently have the iPhone grandfathered unlimited plan, you get to keep it when upgrading to LTE.

The info was released today. 4" screen 1.2-1.4ghz dual core processor 1gb ram 8mp camera.

I've had every iPhone since the original but I now have the 4s and I thought about buying the 5 but the minimal change between the 2 I just can't see myself buying this one right now
