My best friend just sold his original numbers matching '69 Impala SS, 427,
factory 4 speed convertible. That was the last year for the full sized Chevy SS.
The new 1st series Camaro killed the Impala SS.
As I remember the '66 Impala SS didn't have the body side mldgs.
I grew up with these '60 Chevys so it's easy to know the models.
I'm old school also. Nice '66 car.
Yeah your right it's a blast!!!

Your kidding, Right ??

I was wondering how long that Chevelle thing was going to go on. And this is from someone that collects antique Lincolns.

This is a Chevy forum, right?

Na, we were talking V/8's. Americas first true muscle car was the Olds 88.
In 1949 Oldsmobile introduced their new 303 CI OHV V/8. They added the lightweight Chev body onto the Olds chassis
and the race was on. Chrysler then offered the Hemi and then in '64 everyone else jumped in.

Very nice Olds.

Talking V8's only? Guess I have to take my toy and go home then.

I agree, Nice Lincoln.
I had a '73 Ford Country Squire Wagon with that 460 CI Lincoln engine.
Great car but it could not get over 7 MPG and that was on the Interstates.

Thanks everybody. I just spent the last 2 days washing and waxing it, and it is still not done. This is the only time I wish it was smaller.

7 mpg? That is really bad. This one gets 11 city and 15 highway.

^^ I had that car to the local Lincoln dealer where a friend worked twice.
They checked over the engine & trans and said there was nothing they could do about the mileage.
That's when gas was only a buck a gallon but I still had to get rid of that great driving wagon.
That Olds 88 gets about the same mileage as your Lincoln.
