For the LAST TIME, it's a VF Commodore. The G8 was a VE Commodore.

Well in the states, and maybe other places also idk, Commodore is more popularly known as a computer. The Commodore 64. Them keeping the Commodore name for the US would be like them naming the car Nintendo, or Atari. Then you have The Commodores, an old r&b group from back in the day.
So at least in the states that name is already ingrained in pop culture to mean something other than a car already.

The Chevrolet Atari.

GM came up with the Sonic nameplate, which is a burger joint and a video game character, and the car is doing fine.

Commodore would work.

Whatever. I'm just happy it's back even if it does have a weird name.

I saw something similar back in 2004(i think) a concept vehicle drawing from Chevy with "SS" designation which later turned out to be our beloved 5th gen Camaro. Only thing I can think of is the re-designed Impala. Impala SS ??? They just not saying which model,that's all.

They've already shown the new Impala, its FWD and related to the LaCrosse and XTS. It is not a RWD sports sedan

It was just my guess...geez.Hence the "Impala???"..just saying that I doubt it will be called simply the "SS"..even if it's FWD Impala,who saids GM can't make one"SS".

They named an ugly vehicle after a natural disaster (Avalanche) and it sold pretty well... so maybe an ugly vehicle with a dumb name will work. IMO, G8s Commodores, whatever, are fugly.

I'm highly anticipating the non camo reveal. I loved the G8.

Like a few others though, I can't see 'SS' being the final production name. Too much confusion on sharing a name with a trim designation that is on a lot other Chevy vehicles.

The Chevy SS concept didn't really have anything to do with the Camaro.
