Premiered May 1991 on NBC

Michael Knight is recalled from retirement because crime has become rampant in Seattle. The current system of freezing convicts is not working. KITT has been dismantled and the parts sold. Devon Miles has managed to recover all but one chip which has been implanted in the head of a female cop, Shawn McCormick, whose brain was destroyed by a bullet. KITT is installed in a box and used in Michael’s ‘57 classic Chevy. He and the cop, who has a chip on her shoulder as well as in her head, are teamed. Meanwhile, the foundation is preparing the new car, the Knight 4000.

When the producers of Knight Rider 2000 (1991)
went to General Motors and asked for permission to use
the Pontiac Banshee Concept Car for the Knight 4000,
GM declined, saying that if the movie turned into
the series, they would be once again swamped by
requests for the "Knight 4000 Car", as they were for the
Pontiac Trans Am. So the producers turned to Jay Ohrberg
Star Cars Inc. for help. Ohrberg and his staff
constructed a car which resembled the Banshee on top of a
1991 Dodge Stealth.

Other than KITT riding on water, I loved Knight Rider 2000. LOL I wanted a Banshee SO bad after that movie.

Awwwww DAMNIT to HELL! They HAD to use a Mustang didn't they!!!

I just hope the show is cool... cause the ride sucks (as much as a 550hp Shelby GT500KR can suck).

~LSx
DID ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THAT ON THE LINK ABOVE THE SHELBY KITT PICS IT SAYS "MUSTANG IS THE NEW F-BODY"

anyway you know I may just give this show a shot....if as stated before, the story is good. besides the shelby KR is at least pleasing to the eye

That's what I thought. LOL But it looks even worse than it did on the original KITT.

What's with the stupid little strip across the headlights? And why two different cars - one with stripes and one without? And the scoop on the door? Who the hell puts a scoop on a door? And the double spoiler? Is it a biplane?
