Rags "especially Motor Trend" is only good for wiping your backside when your taking a deuce and run out of toilet paper. Naw, just kidding. I like the pics and some of the writers opinions but im sure not taking their performance numbers without a grain of salt. The GT500 is a fine automobile and im sure youll love it. You just cant compete with the powerplant of the Shelby. But I do still enjoy reading some of you guys replys refusing to admit its performance is nothing short of the Camaros. 20+ posts and nobody has dogged the archaic live axle setup....you guys are slipping.

War Eagle- shes a beaut, good luck with the sale but those incentives on the leftover GT500's are killin ya.

Good comparison by the way.

That's because for a pure drag/straight line car, a live rear axle is the most beneficial suspension setup. It's great for ride handling but inefficient when you want to go fast in a straight line (a la Shelby). Shelbys aren't designed to take turns, remember.

I like how rare GT500 will be also. Another reason I was considering SRT8, but could not get those bankrupt a$$eSS to go down. gas guzzler and 1K for stick is retarted.
you know where to get a gt500 for 35k? wtf link, info?? hook it up.

It's to bad people can't appreciate fine american engineering. There's nothing wrong with the Camaro, GT or SRT8 looks, HP or design. One person on here said it best... "my brother can beat up your brother" crap! Anyone can take any one of those cars and make them the bully of the block! Well, there will always be someone out there that will take your spot from you! That's a real nice looking GT500 your getting, have fun with it. I'm buying the 2SS Camaro because of it's design and engineering but if I loose a few races... all well... I had fun doing it... just don't bash me for the choice I made!

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

good luck when you line up w/ one and get smoked bro... the GT500 will always beat the SS mod for mod. if guy puts a KB on it then he has 800 HP; ill need to beef up drivetrain to make anywhere near that power.
