Yes, because firefighters get pleasure out of "misplacing" who paid fire insurance. Because we LOVE watching all of a person's belongings burning to the ground.

Yup I'm sure they did and because they don't have their own FD the tax rate is lower then the agancy next to them that has a FD and offers them fire coverage for a fee of $75 a year per house hold so that in case of a fire...

Do FF take any kind of an oath?

Might not go over well in civil court.

Like those bank robber many years back that out gunned the police, shooting up a bunch of cops and people trying to get away.

In criminals court the cops who waved off medical help for the bank robbers did nothing wrong. But in civil court those cops lost everything, pensions, kids college funds, houses...

They violated their protect and serve oath.

That $75 fee could cost those who dediced not to put the fire out 1000x more.

Most trailer fires are a total lost within the city limits. With the response time and probable lack of a water supply it was doomed to began with.

I have to agree. There are plenty of local taxes, I don't understand why someone should be charged a fee for a basic service like fire protection. What's next, having to pay $75 a year for law enforcement if you don't live in the city? Honestly this sounds like a much more responsible plan:

In a nearby county, rural homeowners can purchase a $110 subscription to cover fires, but they can also pay on the spot for fire protection: $2,200 for the first two hours firefighters are on the scene and $1,100 for each additional hour, according to dailytimes.com.
Than just letting someone's home burn down over a matter of $75.

I could see the law enforcement one........ don't pay it and they won't pull you over for speeding? Sounds like a plan to me
