How about share your complaint with the management. Starting a thread about it here probably isn't going to make any difference and just going to rile things up....

Agreed. The forum is a subset of this web site. Rules of the Forum may be different than the rest of the site. We don't pay anything for access to the site or the forum. The owners need to make money to provide the site and forum, usually that is through ads. They own the site, they can do what they want. Since we don't pay we either stay or go, we can certainly comment and ask for things, but they don't owe us anything and we can't demand anything if we aren't paying. As others have stated, typically ads are provided by a service that uses your personal history information to give you selected ads from those within the ad service.

Having said that, I don't disagree with your posting your feelings on this matter, I just don't agree with you.

Or i have a great idea... Download firefox .. get the adblock addon and then you wont see any ads and you will feel all at peace with yourself and Camaro5 . Adblock FTW!

Camaro5 does not control the content of Google Ads. If we did, do you think we'd allow advertising of Mustangs or any of the other things that people have complained about on there?

If you don't like what you see, just reload the page & you'll probably get a different ad.

We're terribly sorry you are perceiving this to be a double-standards issue. I assure you it is NOT.

What you're witnessing is the ad program reading through your internet cookies and discovering that you live in NJ. At that point, it chooses an appropriately-targeted ad to spew at you.

We have no control over the content of the ad. However we maintain its existence because it helps to defray the costs of operation so you (all our members) can continue to enjoy the site's content free of charge.

I recommend clearing your cookies and reloading the page. That should do the trick.
