I can only imagine the feeling, Skyman. Seniority means little when you're not union. Like you, I think we could cut back and squeeze by until early SS, but you're too young to retire, so find something you'd enjoy doing even if it's not in the EET field. I've often thought it would be neat to work at Lowe's or Home Depot, or maybe a boating store like West Marine. EET is my field too, so Ill keep checking the job postings for Boeing in St. Louis just in case something comes up. Best to you - keep in touch with your friends here - and stay positive! You'll come through this like you have every other hardship you've ever faced, right?

Well I have started putting my Application in and I am hoping to hear something soon. I have most of my paperwork for my retirment out of the way I have a few meetings with some Financial people in the next few days to work out a plan. If I get one of the jobs I am looking at then I still may be able to get that Camaro in about a Year.. Depending on my Salery...
Maybe by then too they will be some incentives on them and I can get one even cheaper than I was origonally looking at...

Keeping my hopes up!

Update

Well it has been a month now and I have only heard back from one place that I have put in an Application. and it was stating that they are reviewing it and may be contacting me soon.

I want to thank everyone that has sent me PM's about possible job opportunities. Believe me I look into each and every one.

If anyone has any others just let me know I can use all the help I can get.

My job ends in 20 days. One of the reasons I didnt order one but my goal is to still get one. I am looking at this as a door opening to bigger oppurtunities. So keep your head up.

Good luck, Tim. I never saw this before....been on and off lately. I sure hope something works out for you. I see what this has done to my mother....and it's not cool. You'll be able to find something. Keep your head up, shoulders back, and something will come through.

I know it can't compare, but I put in 6 years to a restaurant here in San Antonio, was a manager (busting my butt.....) and I got canned. I went through all my savings until my next job started up...it went by quickly. I'll never forgive that "little man" for letting me go....what a ******* *****. Karma is a b!tch, though...he'll get his eventually.

You'll be fine. Good luck and keep us updated.
