This is good for all of us. I'm never going to be able to retire if ford and chevy don't soon stop this.

Throwing on power hasn't had great effect on the gt500. Power isn't everything. They need a way to put it to the ground.

It has a great effect on mine and just about everyone else I know with a modded GT500.

My buddy's stock powered 2011 GT500 went from 11.20 @ 124mph down to a 10.60 @ 133mph with just a pulley and exhaust

And...?? BFD. ZL1 has a 'charger too. And they'll make pulleys and exhausts for those. So you'll just have to wait and see.

The fact remains, the Mustang is still one ugly SOB. You can't go fast enough to shed the ugly. No way, no how.

There is ONE good thing about owning a Mustang. While driving, your view of the competition is a whole lot better than what Camaro owners have to look at. If you had to see your own car coming down the street, you'd switch pronto!

This thread is about the new 5.8L and my post was a reply about how well modded GT500's run. Why are you even talking about the ZL1 and calling my post out with BFD and what not?

Nobody is bashing your precious ZL1 buddy.

Cart before the horse much? Why don't we wait until both cars hit the streets before we declare a "winner"!
because... you drive a 2005 Chrysler your on neither team...
So we don't have to wait.

BTW, I sold the Crossfire months ago and no longer drive a Mopar.

I won't be scared a bit of the new GT500. Bring it on! Of course I'm far from stock...

I like that they keep escalating the hp wars. The government will bring it all to an end soon so let's enjoy it while it lasts.

Ford is far too agile for GM atm. They are not bogged down in the level of bureaucracy GM is and can produce/innovate at a much faster pace. This is a prime example.

BTW - I can't wait to line up against some ZL1's at the strip. I think they will be surprised a N/A 5.0 made it to the end first all the while showing those fugly taillights.

You guys are way too sensitive. Time to pull your panties out of your crack. I personally don't care about Mustangs, but I'll defend anyone's desire to own or drive one. As long as it isn't rice.

Ford stole my idea for the Z28/ZL1 :(. All new Mustangs will have an on board performance monitor via a 4.2 LCD on the panel that displays everything from G-force readouts to temperature gauges spanning various internals (engine, transmission, intake, etc.), braking, 0-60 mph and 0-100 mph times, eighth-mile and quarter-mile times, by way of a simulated dragstrip Christmas tree.

http://jalopnik.com/5847018/2013-mus...ps-lcd-display

There goes my million dollar idea.. I wonder where they got it from?
