What would the Hamsterpower [H(a)P] to Horsepower [H(o)P] conversion be?

5,000 H(a)P = 1 H(o)P.....obviously a guesstimate, LOL.

So a LS3 equipped Camaro would have 2,130,000 H(a)P instead of 426 HP?

I read this thread as far as this post. I couldn't agree more. If it comes down to 4cylinders in a camaro then just stop making it...its a disgrace to the camaro name...what's next? fart cans and type R stickers? Save the 4 cylinder for the cobalt or whatever little pos you want...if that's not an option then don't make camaros...unfortunately there seems to be so many people that own 5th gens who would never consider a gm product until the camaro came back out. In my opinion your a fake...you saw transformers and said hey I want one and have probably never had any interest in the previous generation camaro or gm. So those people won't care if it has a briggs and stratton lawn mower engine...why would you care? You never cared about the camaro before so why care about the future of it? Sorry if I came across as a dick..its just how I feel. Everybody I knew with 4th gens bought those cars because they were genuinely into muscle cars...trust me if you owned a 4th gen you know there nothing special...you sacrificed ride quality, visibility, leaky t tops, crappy window motors etc... You made these sacrifices because of the power and feel of the car. People who would never make those sacrifices are now buying 5th gens because they look cool. The truth is if gm put an ls3 into an aveo I would buy it due to performance only. Okay sorry guys...I know not all fifth gen owners are like that but the majority I meet this is the impression I get.

Don't get me wrong, I have a 2SS/RS LS3/M6 and love the power of the V8 and believe in the old addage 'no replacement for displacement', but If someone could produce a 4 banger that had the same 426HP (or 2,130000 HaP, It'd still be OK.
As long as the horsepower is there.......

Don't sound bad to me..lol. Just look at the evo's, suby's, mazdaspeed's, and soon to come focus RS. They are all within that magical "2 with turbo" segment and most of us know these little factory prepped turbo's are no slouch and probably the easiest cars to get HP out of. Although focus RS might be something new to us, the eupropean market already been tearing these things inside out for years. The only thing that scare me is the weight. I wonder if GM will realize that on avg of 4000lb was too much. If they replace the sixxers with around around 300/300 with around 3500lb curb weight I am all in, but not if they keep the weight.

I highly doubt if they will replace the 8cy with 4 but replacing the 6 make sense.

I wonder if the one's shouting "no 4 cylinder derp" realize that they are asking for the death of the pony car?

I wonder if the new ones are built like the LNF. The Kappa guys are getting 450-500 to the ground without touching the internals.

I as a previous owner of a 09 cobalt ss coupe know how awesome the lnf is and when u added a stage one kit that boosted it to 290hp and over 300lbs of tq. and got rid of some of the learn down features so ur actual parts gave u hp like down pipes and intakes and charge piping. I dont have a problem with a turbo 4 in a camaro if it had the hp atleast 350 to 380 in the base model cause we are talking next gen camaro not this gen. Id be all for it also if the mpgs were there as well. In all weight is the biggest issue here.
