I agree Jason

That's great but again that's just going to make people think that they don't have to "think" anymore when driving their damn car. Horrible idea ford!!

I believe it is called catering to the lowest common denominator... and unfortunately, everyone does it these days.

Edit: Somewhere in the future... we're all gonna be driving bumper cars! (hey, they run on electricity)

Even though it would allow some people to be more careless, I still think that it is a great idea. The more protection the better. Rubber up!

Also this is the kind of inovation GM needs to lead!

I like it and think it's a good idea...like others said I'd rather have a dent than dent+scratch+the other cars paint.

I need one where if it detects that they are going to ding my car, a punching glove comes out and knocks them out.

Just paint your whole car with Rhino Liner and then people can ding it all they want.

On a serious note... this is not a great idea. As has been pointed out already, it will only serve to encourage people to let go of their doors. I think GM should market the Camaro as "Fitness Equipment" since it typically causes people to park further away from the entrance of malls and stores and causes you to walk more!
