all cops are wrong. i have yet to meet one that is spot on. i have seen it all. i have been watching since i got a bs ticket in which the cop SAID he would let me go with a warning, but since he was writing other people tickets and they would be in court the same time, he couldnt let me go. why would you say that? oh, and the ticket was for a noise ordinance bc i was in my truck with the windows down. oh, btw... same town where no more than 3 months later, i read an article in the paper where 60% of cops in the town couldnt READ at a tenth grade level, also 10% couldnt read at a sixth grade level. back to my original statement, i have seen it all: cops not using blinkers, speeding, running red lights, riding to close behind people.

He was probably in a rush to get to call that didn't call for lights and sirens. You were in left lane so he more than likely turn on his lights to move you out the way. Plus who knows of he ran your tag or not. I'm a police officer and I can careless if Its a Camaro mustang or a Prius. I pull cars over for violations not what type they are. So just as I do most law enforcement does too. There a few bad apples out there yes but 99% of them do the right thing. Heck I own a Camaro and no cops pick on me cause what I drive. Your argument is ignorant and not even valid to me.

Its a four lane highway left lane is the speeding lane right is the slow lane. and if he was in such a hurry why did he not just sped passed us in the lane he was currently going. Pull into are lane (takes time) slow down to match are speed (more time waisted) flip on his lights (waisted more time) wait for us to legaly go over (MORE TIME ) then hit the gas pedel? MAKE ANY SENCE NO!

As far as him breaking the rules. Cops have places to be. Just because he didn't run his lights the whole way didn't mean he wasn't about to respond to a call.

Exactly Obzen!!!

Nightfall, I understand your frustration and truthfully "we" get the speeding while on duty thing drilled at us all the time. Somedays we get tired of hearing "what took you so long"" on and on...
Honestly, there are some types of complaints we respond to, where we are trained not to use our lights or limit their use.
I work in a congested City ("town" more like it) where the main road is a 6 lane divided hwy. Sometimes, I would rather run to an emergency call with my lights off rather than have them on (all except going thru intersections/lights). The general public doesn't know how to react when you come up behind them. The first car goes to the right, the next car pulls into the median, the third idiot slaps on his brakes and stops right in front of me in the left lane. WTF!! sometimes its easier to slip thru the traffic rather than scare the s--- out of them. That is..if they are paying attention at all.
While on normal patrol I normally stay around 5 over... this lets traffic flow around the speed limit behind me. BUT I constantly have people in my City drive right on by me like I'm not even there. Then I stop them and they go.... why? DUh!!! is my car not marked enough for you.. back in my younger days.... you never passed a marked car on the hwy.

Are there officers out there that do it....yeah but the majority of the time at least with the people I work with...its for a reason.

You can Monday quarterback this all day long in the end, you were speeding, he move out the way and didn't give you a ticket. End of story.

If I had to guess my friend I would say either he really wanted to pull you over and got called to a complaint or already was supposed to be going to a complaint.
Or he saw that you slowed down, checked your tag info (maybe), and then decided to do that as a warning???

Its hard to say.... could be alot of reasons.

On a multi-lane road I usually pull up next to someone and either show them .... hey its a police car behind you pssst.. slow down
or if its during the daytime I will give you the look over the sunglasses...like hey slow down before I pull you over. This happens alot if I have to try and pace out a car on the speedometer and traffic stops them before I get a speed on them. ( I only use LIDAR no moving radar.)

Hey I would rather an officer pull up on me and give me a look then pull my a-- over for a ticket ya know..

so, jdenotter... i see that your location is in north carolina. and i also see by what it says in the bottom of your posts that you have 20% tint on your windows. now, by the tint law of north carolina, law states 35% is legal. do you consider that right? you break the law everyday you drive your camaro.

There was no reason for him to pull into are lane to do that. No other cars around us for miles

Also if it was a really call he should have kept his lights ON. Not flash them for a milli sec then blow by us like he did
What I was trying to say was he probably pulled up behind you and ran your plate then flashed you to scare you because you were speeding.
