its not a tuner problem, its a ring tolerance issue. tune the car with a bad motor, and it will fail.

its not a defect in a stock motor, but if power levels are raised its will fail. ive pulled 4 degrees in my tune. a/f is good in the tune according to datalogs.
I totally disagree. The data doesn't add up.

#8 is the one that fails every time. Power adder cars which place more stress on the pistons and rings aren't blowing up unless they have a poor tune on them.

This has been discussed in-depth on most every Mustang forum. There is supporting data to show certain tuners were supplying defective tunes. You have participated in the same threads I have on those sites.

Ring land being the issue is your opinion.

Once again...pay to play. I don't dislike Mustang owners participating on this forum like other members...but take the arguing back to Mustang-centric/sponsored forum. Its interesting to see what issues on stock and non stock Mustangs are out there, but I don't really care for the nitty gritty details. I can go peruse other sites for that.

You look at the percentages of 5.0's or LS3's going bad compared to those that haven't regardless of the application and it I'm sure is very small. I don't have the numbers, but as a whole, I would bet both of these engines are very reliable.

this, both are very stout motors with their own ups and downs

Supporting data? what supporting data?

different tunes were used. different parameters.
TO INCLUDE FORD ENGINEERING TUNE.

you folks are ignoring what you dont want to hear.

i have supporting data i cant mention where i got it.

5600 engines were defective and on hold. they were released after a work around.

mine was on mysterious hold like others.

there is no other data out there beyond quoting yourselves as 'data'.

Brenspeed
American Muscle/Bama

...that ring any bells?

If it was a ring land issue it wouldn't be isolated to #8 and bosted motors would exacerbate the problem. End of discussion.

Track times are solid and documented.

I decided to drop in a new 5.0 instead of the garbage LS3.....with a tune and an x pipe I should be almost into the 10s!

Just curious, you have no issue thrashing and bringing light to Camaro issues....do you ever have anything bad to say about your Challenger or Mustang?

None of the three are perfect. I don't like that the Challenger has a 5 speed auto that is strangely geared, auto comes with a dismal 3.06 rear gear in an open diff, 2 1/4" exhaust from the factory, and a few other items.

Mustang isn't as quiet on the inside but that can be attributed to the mods I have done. Base stereo is pretty weak. The Camaro base stereo sounded better. Lack of tire on the Mustang from the factory. Same could be said for the Challenger.

Let me remind you guys once again it was the Camaro owners/members who start these threads. Unfortunately there was mis-information posted and it needed addressing. You wanted to pick a fight as usual. What kind of reaction do you expect?

BTW - if I had cams installed in my car I am sure it would run 10's in good weather. Hell I bet it is close now. Does that upset you that a bolt-on 5.0 runs that well?

Nah! I'm sure hugger will feel the same here...

I like having a challenge to make my lead sled beat it! I've whipped quite a few new 5.0's with the new engine. And a stock 2003 z06 vette...haha

Watch out with which tune you use. I hear there's a lot of bad ones out there.
