One thing that has made me curious is that I'm under the impression that engines must be run to be kept in good shape and lubricated. So if you really do drive all electric, will the engine just start once a month anyway, or what's the deal? Does anyone know how GM is going to approach this issue?
I'm curious too

The first rule of modding something that's not American is to not try to compete with modded V8 cars that are American. Really, they can run insane power with little investment. It's not even a fair fight.

I'd imagine so. General rule of thumb for riding a bike is similar to the quote and also keeping the tank full of gas to prevent the trapped air from oxidizing the inside of the tank. Same would probably go for something like the Volt.

Dunno why you wouldn't anyway or at least have a way to prevent old gas syndrome for the little thing (the engine that is).

This stuff reminds me of Ralph Nader and the unsafe swing axle, he never bothered VW about it the nazi.

for the engine I assume they incorporated an electric oil pump that will turn on a little before the engine so you don't start with dry bearings. 0-20w oil

Has anyone read anything on what kind of engine the generator will be?
Rotary or two-stroke

OMG...Marketing dictates that if two cars cost the same, one can go 40 miles one single charge while the other goes 7 or even 20 no matter how much more efficient in the long run...I can tell you which one of these three I would buy, even if it cost $10,000 more.. In fact, I would rather go ahead and buy a Hybrid SUV like the Cadillac Escalade that gets 20 miles per gallon..I wonder how inefficient that article would say that one is even though in comparison to other SUV's in its size range makes it a God??
