getting trolled, someone coming in just to start trouble, not knowing what the heck they are talking about. or just to get people worked up in a bother.

I think a lot of people on here who refer to "ricer" are just referring to any smaller car with a butt trumpet and various cosmetic things like wing spoilers, decals, and fake scoops ect. to get the illusion that the car is fast.

I worked at a gas station with a repair shop in it all through high school.I saw just as many if not more import cars in for repair. To say that imports are more reliable than american cars is just plain false.

LOL at all the posts! No I'm not trolling, first and foremost I am AMERICAN first! My ethnic background is Chinese/Japanese (father) and Puerto Rican (mother) so "rice" is what we eat most, whether its steamed white rice or rice and beans. Maybe I'm taking things out of context and maybe i really don't know what a "ricer" really is but see it from my point of view...
You associate Japanese cars with "ricer, rice hops, rice etc..." that's what I eat k. So correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that like associating blacks with oh say "cornbread and fried chicken?" no? What about "mayo" and trailers for whites? Like my thread says "some Camaro owners" are so anti-asian when it comes to cars but ironically an asian person designed it. Why would this thread be deleted again? I don't understand . |

YES at first it was the young Asian men that started the "RICED OUT" car kick, Just like Hispanic started the HOOPTY bit with the big wheels & lifted crap on their cars. I know guys who do it think its great & they are not either Asian or hispanic they are WHITE or black or what ever. as for this thread to be deleted is because you are stating that we are RACIST & we are not. I hate that statement, What race are we trying to win??? I am not in a race I am just trying to live. I have a Niece that is Hispanic, Indian & white. Heck My best friend is what ever. GET OVER IT WHO CARES its not what we like. (or some of us like)

Lol, your alti didn't have the qr25de engine, did it? Back in my spec-v days, thevboard was full of people complaining about issues with those cars. Some of the major ones:
1. Precat failure, resulting in pieces of the cat being sucked into the engine, scoring the walls, and causing consumption of oil. Lots of engines were blown when the owner burned all his oil up. Others were told by dealers that a quart every thousand miles was normal! 2. The butterfly valves on the intake would shed their screws which would get sucked into the engine. Some were lucky and they were passed through without incident, others not so much. 3. Head gasket failures from the material being too thin. About once a week we'd see a post about mayonaise under the oil fill cap. 4. MAF sensors gone bad galore! 5. Fuel pump pressure issues on startup, causing hard starts. And for non engine related: 1. foam snakes in the hvac that liked to find there way into the vents and clog them up. 2. Paint you could scratch with you fingernail (I tried this one on the lower fender just to see, and it was true) 3. My drivers side door leaked a bit in the rain. That car was a blast, don't get me wrong, I loved it. And I'm not saying American cars are any better, just saying just because it's asian doesn't mean it's better. And, I've known plenty of people that say they'd never drive an American car, that attitude is basically a fanboi attitude on either side. |
