Halo did not.

doom and quake were just that.. running and shooting things...Halo 1 the AI, the graphics, the open gameplay, the multiplayer and co-op, the grunts screaming "the demon is here!" I haven't played counterstrike i dont know what camperstr is but i remeber half life which is where contrstrike came from and it was ok. maybe it depends on what you game on. PC or Console.

The camperstrike thing just cliked....I get that on COD4-5 too!!! at least we know where to look when we respawn!

You're seriously saying Halo's gameplay revolutionized the genre but Doom/Quake did not? Strong words. But you're excused, you're a console gamer and don't know better.

I'm not saying FPS are not fun on a console, I played COD4 for quite a while on xboxlive. But your statement about Halo revolutionizing the genre is just wrong imo. Maybe revolutionized FPS games on a console in terms of making it suitable for mainstream gamers, ok i will give you that.

ok..ok.. doom is a classic, i'm not saying doom/quake aren't good, i've got doom downloaded on my 360. i know doom wouldn't look up or down, and was a semi puzzle game. can't remeber quake. I never got into PC games mainly because i couldn't afford the upgrades to my p o s computer.

Ive played the demo and the game is really good.

i have read on a site that the demo was made back in 08 so its not the final build or something like that

Doom/Quake pretty much started it(techinially they are corridor shooters), but lost fun factor very soon. all the other FPS were pretty much the same thing after that. To me the game that revolutionized FPS was GOLDENEYE for N64, it was more than a step above anything else, and multiplayer was good, and entertaining also. Halo took it a step further! Sorry Im not a PC gamer, like I said its just not enjoyable to me.
