I can just imagine that he was laughing his head off during the race. What makes me laugh is all the people (replying to the video) getting all emotional about it - if you're the kind of person that can be influenced by the Civic guy - then maybe you have low self esteem. Put it this way - if you were driving a Bugatti Veyron - would you let yourself get goaded? No - because you KNOW you have the better car. The Camaro guy clearly felt he needed to "prove" something because he isn't confident in where he stands; he felt slighted because he felt he didn't get the recognition he felt he deserved. "People are supposed to fear my car!! How dare that insolent Civic challenge me!!??" Personally I was laughing with the Civic guy, and laughing at the Camaro guy. From the moment the Civic guy opened his mouth, I knew he was a heckler/joker (the big grin on his face is a big giveaway) but the Camaro guy just fell for it hook line and sinker. You can see a vein on the Camaro guy's forehead at the Macdonalds while he's ranting with froth in his mouth whilst the Civic guy is trying to stop himself from laughing. About fart cans - it used to bother me until I sat down and thought about why it did. I think it's because we believe that 4 cyl car owners don't deserve the recognition they seem to seek by drawing attention to themselves. Nobody seems to criticize Gallardos that can wake up the dead because we feel that the Gallardo "deserves" to be heard.
But when we really think about it: is the guy driving the Gallardo really any better than the guy driving the farted up Civic? I don't think so. They're both cars for drawing attention to the driver - don't be hating on the chap with less money. |

While most of the cars that have these fart cans are just young kids with the typical ricer mods, there are a few 4 cylinders in my town that sounds like rice but are very quick cars. That being said my brother will be one of them, he's currently in the build process with his civic, should be putting down close to 300-350whp when he's done.

there's a big difference between Tuners and Ricers
Tuners = respect, properly upgraded fast cars Ricers = fart trumpets and stickers.

People who make bad cars sound loud and go fast amuse me. If your going to go out of your way to spend money on a car you'd think most people would pick a cool car.
Maybe I should drop a 6.4 hemi in the New Yorker. That will show em. |

Mine's deeper
![]() Anyway. . . The whole straight thru canister design does help on high-hp turbo setups that absolutely need the extra flow. It's unfortunate that people have for some reason come to the conclusion that they're cool on slow hondas. Up until 300whp or so you can use a chambered 3" no problem. Above ~400whp you are going to start losing power with any kind of chambered muffler and the "fart can" design will help, although you don't need a melon shooting 6" tip. |

For some reason these kids think cutting a hole through their exhaust makes the car produce like 800 horses at the wheel. I'm amazed how many burnt out, douche modded ricers will actually try to get me to race them.

It's called a sleeper if done correctly and can be fun. My old GTP was a fun sleeper. A few mods and she was going 13s@ over 100 MPH in the 1/4 mile, BUT she did sound like a fart cannon. My fult because I redid the exhaust and removed the resonator and the mufflers I bought sucked. Anywho, a 6.4 Hemi New Yorker would be pretty sweet imho LOL.

The Neons with butt trumpets just kill me. Too much fun at a stop light. I just leave the nanny controls on and hammer it off of a light up to the speed limit. So far, I've got two of them ticketed. They can't stand to be beat and eventually come screaming by. Most of them are too dumb to realize that the cops regularly patrol this wide open stretch of road.
Of course, I only play with them in an area without a lot of pedestrians or intersections. |
