Wow, I guess this reveals the true character of some of the people here on this forum. I own a Hyundai Tiburon, I'm not too keen on the new Genesis Coupe and personally don't care what people think about it nor does it matter to me, if it did I wouldn't have bought a Hyundai in the first place. For the almost five years I've had my car the only thing that ever needed replacing was the stock radio which was immediately replaced under warranty, since then it's been the most reliable car I've ever owned- and I've owned Buick's, Fords, and Volkswagens with all of them having more than their share of serious issues before I had to part with them.
It doesn't surprise me how gung-ho some of you are about chevy's, which is fine, but when I came to these boards I actually believed at first that this was a more mature and evolved group of people, this thread seems to prove otherwise. In the tiburon forums they may be a younger demographic, but on the whole they are a lot more respectful towards other car owners and openly discuss other models without any emotional outbursts or feelings of inadequacy towards other cars. They will openly admit their car is not a fast car by any conventional standards but also appreciate them in the same way you all appreciate your own cars, whether they're Chevy or not. Age is no indicator of maturity apparently, and a lot of people here reflect an attitude that seems extremely ignorant and even show contempt towards anything that falls outside their comfortable range of Chevy cars/trucks. Yes, it's a camaro forum and that's what primarily be discussed, but to attack people for trying to stimulate conversation on other cars shouldn't illicit the amount of immaturity and types of 'traitor' comments the OP's received over this thread. |

Redline at 9000rpm, except they upped the HP/Tq to close to 300/300, which is HUGE for a car thats rumored to weight close to 2600lbs. Then the Rx-7 is looking a 450hp engine, but that car will be pushing 40-50k most likely.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Yes the new Mazda RXs, if they come out as rumored, would push the Genesis coupe much farther down my list. The current RX8 has great handling, looks good, and has nice seats in the R3 package, but the engine just sucks. V8 fuel economy, SMART-car power, and consumes 1 dead dinosaur a day in oil. Fix the engine, and it will be a close call between that and the Camaro. The Genesis Coupe is sized right, performs right, is priced right, and packaged right, but I just don't like the styling and I just don't love it. When I saw the Camaro at the auto-show, it felt special. Looking at the Genesis coupe, I knew I should love it, because it was the complete package, but it just didn't have "It". Still, not a bad car at all.

What a bunch of inmature babies. This is the "other" car section. If you don't want to intelligently talk about "other" cars then bail. The Camaro is just one car people on this forum are considering. Lay off of Hyundai as well. I didn't see any GM car named Car of the Year at the NAIAS. No, it was a Hyundai Genesis. The new Genesis Coupe is freakin' sweet.

The car looks lame. It's got no class and no style, like most other imports.
